In for $200 for the first session in a few months

Got a seat in the 1/3 game, and doubled my buy in with KK vs a pair+straight draw that missed. Then got a seat at the Omaha game and bought in with the $700ish from that game and turned it into this thus far. Big hand was QJ97ds raided PF flop of Q4Q Turn J, River 6 and 44Q paid pot all 3 streets. Love pumpkins in October.

They are garbage.
Turns out that the chips aren't the only thing that is garbage at Orange City now.

The 1-2 games were always borderline thanks to a 5+2 rake, a $200 cap, and a large portion of the player pool who buys in short (usually $100). The big HHJs on the weekends helped, though, because they really brought out the bingo players.

Recently, they've killed the big HHJs and increased the rake to 6+2. The games were awful last night. My table had three 2-5 regs who apparently were there because their regular games were either full or bad. The table was pretty tight, and everybody's stacks were shrinking thanks to the increased rake. It was like playing on a cruise ship, but without the deep pocketed gamblers.

After a couple early boats, I ran like ass for the rest of the night and booked a loss. But honestly, I just don't see how this game is remotely beatable anymore. If I want to continue playing locally, I'm going to have to start making the 90 minute drive to Hard Rock Tampa.

After this post I ended up winning a big pot vs. a guy just gambling AIPF with :ah::as::js::9c: vs his :ks::qs::5c::6c:. Flop is :7h::8c::9s: and I get lucky with a :td: turn to scoop. Got another uptick when I took someone's stack on an AT46A board against a PFR that had a flush draw on the flop holding TT98. He c/c my flop, then potted turn. I was worried about being set over set going to the river but had the flush draw + straight draw + quad out and maybe the best hand. He checked river and I put him all in for 3/4 pot. Thankfully didn't get snapped off and knew then he had a big A. He called and I was good.

A few hands later the table uber nit who is sitting on 4k raises to $50 and I look down at :kd::ks::jc::9d: four players call and I have an easy call, and a limper behind me calls. Flop is :qd::th::9s: checks to me I pot for $300 and get a caller who is 3k deep. This guy has played every like it's holdem. Turn $900 is a :8c: and he now donks into me for $300. I tank for a bit because I 'think' he has J8xx seeing as I watched him 3bet jam all in on a flop with the nuts/no draw earlier vs someone with nuts +2 redraw. He faded them both. I'm also not entirely sure he's not trying to set his own price with a set to draw so I repot to $1,800. He thinks for a long time, cuts out calling chips, almost calls twice and then folds. :cautious: Funny thing is when I put the $1,800 out I put out the 1k chip and 800 in 25s. The dealer literally stopped me and said what's that? I'm like 1k it says on the chip. She turns to the guy on her left a 25/50 regular and says is that legit? He said well it was mine originally so I'm hoping so...We had a laugh about it when the next dealer arrived as she has been a dealer at this casino a very long time (not to mention a poker player as well) and definitely should know. Either way why ask him and not the floor...

At this point I was up about 4.5k in the PLO game and almost 5k for the day.

Then the ice hit....

Lost some of it back after 3 betting PF with :ad::ah::th::7h:. Flop goes multi way :9h::9c::5h:we all check, turn:jc: and it checks to the inital raiser who bets half pot. Folds to me and I'm a non believer plus I have hearts so I call. River :6c: I check and he bets 1/3 pot. I tank call and get to see :as::js::8d::7c:

I raise preflop with :ah::ac::kd::qh: and pot flop into 5 players on a the flop comes :th::4h::kc: and get potted and I move the rest in. He flips up :kh::6h::8s::ts:. Board runs out :2d::3s:. Goodbye 1.2k.

Then AIPF again vs. gambler with :ac::ad::9d::2s: vs. :jd::td::7h::4h:. He flopped trip 7s and I lose another 1.1k.

By now, 4 of the softest spots have left for the night and in their place sits the regulars. No good seats at this table left and I was way down on the table change list so I decide to book the 2k win for the day feeling a bit up stuck at this point and head on home. Can't complain but it sure was a swingy session!
