Also, blind structure went as follows:
25/50
50/100
100/200
150/300
200/400
300/600

wait for it...

600/1200
1000/2000
2000/4000
3000/6000 (which is where I busted)

Blinds grew 10x in an hour!

I play in a game where the blinds are 50/100 starting with 100k stacks. But the blinds double literally every blindset. So as odd as it sounds, it becomes a very fast game.

2x blind increases are fairly common, usually with a stutter step from 400/800 to 500/1000. Any "good" player must be able to deal with it in low value tournaments. The "surprise!" jump in the tournament Beaker played in is just atrocious. It's like a poorly thought out home game.

I almost want to rail the game just to see how many people were railroaded into the felt at the 600/1200 sudden jump.

I actually said out loud “wait...what about 400/800 and 500/1000?!”

Last weekend, about halfway through the night at a local .25/.50 home game. I was drinking a horrible spiced Christmas Ale. Ended up clearing 150 on the night.

Early hand that felted me on the night. I double straddle in Crazy Pineapple for two bucks. Pick up Aces. limp, limp, limp, limp, folds, first straddler makes it 25 with a "I feel lucky comment". I have 60 behind me. I shove. Folds to the better who calls. Flop is 7/7/8, turn 8, river is x. He rolls over pocket 7's (his discard was a fucking 8). I reloaded again and took it up to about 290 (had an add on early as well).

Hosted a Tourney, followed by a cash game. Finished 17th out of 20. Sat in the cash game and did ok. .25/.50 blinds/HOPE.

This was my stack about 3 hours into play. Ended up clearing 500 on the night. My second 500 profit in a row at these stakes (great home game :) )

Got to work at 7am. Got to the casino at 5pm, had to pull an all night because the wife needs picking up from her 5 day cruise at 6am. I wanted to leave at 1am, but here I am at 4:30am still going. In for $300 and dying for some sleep.

There's time for sleep when you're done crushing...

Been getting in the $5-$100 Spread Limit Omaha hi game a couple times. I sit with $300 get doubled up and the game breaks an hour and a half later before I get an action pic. Out for $630.

I have a cash game and PLO tourney tonight. I approach home game poker nights like this. If I finish the night at a one buy in loss or better. Its a win!!! (I consider a buy in as 100 bucks).

All night poker, poker chips, drinks, and good people? There’s much worse ways to spend $100
