Couple players at my poker nights have requested a "bullshit" or show em chip to use when they want to see an opponents hand. Curious if anyone had some they were looking to get rid of? Saw a couple options on BRPro I was probably just gonna snag, but thought i'd check here first. Thanks!

Your best bet would be to post a Wanted-Ad in the Classifieds. Maybe there are even some for sale, try the search function for the Classifieds. :)
yeah realized i should have posted in the wanted a little bit ago and made one there. Thanks!

These sound fun! I saw a comment about how they go against the spirit of the game. But if a table all agrees on something then that should be fine.

Yeah, I've had a couple players ask for em. I was thinking to have a few and let players buy em at the start for a few bucks or something. I'm gonna add any of the funds from them to a jar and pay it out to a bad beat or royal flush or something was my plan. We'll see

Paulson Nudes work well as "Show'em" chips. I sell them for $1/chip pre-cash game & all proceeds go into the Bad Beat Jackpot.

We had show-em chips at a table at JIJ (Irish's Meet-Up) this June. I'm pretty sure I was the only one to use one and as I tossed in my chip I asked this question, "Does everyone get to see the players cards or only me?" Naturally nearly the whole table said no we all get to see, but should they? I used my chip to see a hand I folded against so I felt maybe I'm the only one entitled to the information. Now there may be a long standing protocol that a show-em chip means that player reveals to the entire table, but I think there could be an argument that it could go either way and the specifics should be established prior to the game start. I'm very curious to hear anyone's experience with this game option.

I would think generally it is a show one show all situation for most, but when I implement it I am making the rule only the person who paid for the chip gets to see it. It will probably also make others who didn't want to throw down a buck or two for one snatch one up.

We don't usually use show-em chips in our cash games but I kinda like (in theory) the idea of only the person using it getting to see the cards. I might have to give this twist a try the next time we use them.

I use them in my cash games but you have to pay $5 per chip and if used the recipient cashes it back in at the end of the night if not used, so at least the player gets paid for having to show. Some games nobody buys them and others almost the whole group does.

So is the person using the "show em chip the person entitled to see the cards or the whole table?

TonZaga has a Showem chip at the Cardinal Club, everyone buying in gets ONE chip at the start of the night to be used at their discretion. As with his other house rules as to players showing cards, if you decide to show one person then you show all. Reduces the look of potential collusion.

I'm ok with one chip, but, I wouldn't be a fan of players being able to buy multiple chips and buy their way into seeing unlimited hands. But, we're dealing with degens, which like having an addictive trait, if one is good then more has to be better, so you'll always have the degens that want more.

For some of our home game tourneys, we also allow 1 Show'Em chip per player. They can be used anytime after the penultimate player in the hand has folded and before the winning hand is mucked. Anybody at the table with a Show'Em chip can use it and the winning hole cards are revealed to all. The winner then takes possession of the Show'Em chip used against her/him. It is possible for one person to have multiple Show'Em chips available for them to use.

We also limit the "purchase" of one Show Em chip per player however, many times a single player does end up with multiples that can either be reused or cashed out with.

Never had any raised concerns over collusion with the group but this is a private game, and we all know each other well. I can definitely see that being an issue with outsiders or non-regulars though if we had them.

Your mileage may vary depending on the group and what they want or like, for my group they have the "I paid for it, show it to me" mentality if the rest of the table wants to see it, then buy the chip and use it.

great reason for another chip... 'show me only'

Collusion can be overt, but, can also be a simple as I show my good friend, sitting next to me, my cards that I folded, but, didn't show anyone else. He now has more info than everyone else at the table. We have, in a definition of the word, committed collusion. With no real intention of doing so. That's why the rule of show one show all.

Think about it... we've all seen this done, and probably done it, in private friendly games with regs. It's innocent and seemingly had no impact on the game. However, this have is open to new people, and, could look like something shady to the new guy.
