Nicely Done!. Seems like most people have gone with pink fracs. Love to see what everyone has done with their sets, especially for fracs. Come on Ysabellers lets see somemoar!

Not sure if the terminology but did you place the labels over the original SY label? Or did you “murder” them and removed the original label? Would like to know pros and cons if anyone knows. Thanks in advance

The HSI $1a (since re-located to be part of a limit set), SY $2, and HS Cincy $500 (since sold off) are all labels directly over the original inlay, and the Kash $100s were murdered to remove the inlay.

I've always been happy with the results of a label-over and it has the benefit of being a bit cheaper and much less labor-intensive. Other members feel differently and are stone cold murderers through and through!

I played in this casino, way before I became a chip addict. I started running across random singles as a singles collector. I always hoped that enough chips to make a playable set would surface, as I loved the colors and my brief personal history with them. I was thrilled to get a small one table set, and these quickly were added to my almost “untouchables” list.
Looking to make the $2s into quarters with some @Gear labels. Enjoy the prOn!!

I recall that when I first saw that beautiful $1 chip it just screamed yes to me. I had been thinking of building a work horse cash set that can basically stay on the table (when we get the basement finished and cardroom built) but I have never really been a fan of traditional (white/blue, red, green, black) chip set colors, and I already have that in my oversized inlay Aces casino RHC set. But for me there is extra value in the odd non traditional color chip sets. I loved everything about the Santa Ysabel line up... well not wild about the $25 and missing a $100 was an issue but decided to get into the drawing for a chance to buy. Also for the record I love weird denoms like $2s or $3s in a line up. My lucky draw number was pretty high but some friends got good draw numbers and were willing to help us out. Before long what I was planning turned into a small monster!

As you can see up top we were able to score a few racks of awesome pink Ash St. $2s many with an ugly cheap second run label. As I own many of the $1 chips from this card room and them being THCs I had no hard feeling about murdering them and making a nice Ysabel frac and still able to keep the beautiful $2s original.

Just like @dmoney Brie had bought a barrel of the Kash $100s and someone likely @dmoney mentioned they would make a grate hundo for the Ysabels so I grabbed the barrel and mocked a splash with our new found fracs. Pretty stoked with the results, it's a little dark, I almost feel a white hundo like the Garden City $100s would fit the Pastel Color line up better but when @FortyMorty listed a rack of Kash hundos it made my decision easier

So we have 400 of the Ast St. $2s and while it is definitely a far cry from perfect spot progression, I love the yellow and purple in there I think we can cover 3 tables with this cool out of the ordinary colored RHC line up!! We have lots of murdering to do, Brie kicked the first rack out on a lathe but no longer works where that machine is so hopefully before too long we can get set back up and on track with continuing this project

Probably not for everyone but absolutely love this lineup!

Thank You again @navels for sharing this score with the community sir!

I still haven’t decided what to do with my SY $2s either. I wanted to replace the SY $25 because I don’t think it goes with the rest of the chips and turn the SY $2s into $20s but haven’t pulled the trigger. $2s are so hot that i prefer them to be more than quarters plus I have 2 racks and I only need one for my game

I love original chips... I hate when I have to relabel but sometimes you must. Also there are a few of us like @Seeking Alpha Social Club that love putting weird denoms in play so the $2 chip was a absolute decision maker for me. I do love them as fracs but the pinks will work for us and I can keep those $2s the way they are! Also I agree on the $25s, I prefer a $20 to a $25 and definitely a bit dark with that line up but also allows to use the black Kash $100 so not going to reinvent the wheel as rarely do we get high denoms in play anyways!! Haha

Plus we have a barrel of white SB $100s 43mm IHCs that we may use as a $500 that will never ever get in play. Lol the sickness is real!!

If you go non-denominated, they could be fracs OR $20s. Here's the lineup with the $2 as a $20.

Fwiw, I'm coming around to the idea that $20 chips are better for smaller stakes games where players are more likely to buy in with $20 bills, and $25 chips are better for bigger games where players are more likely to buy in with $100 bills.

Yes! No one ever has $25 in their pocket they always have $40 or $60 or even $80 and I have to figure out the change when I’ve been drinking lol

Again funny how we all differ, for me non denom chips just aren't my thing. As far as the debate of $20 to $25... I have never seen a $25 bill. Lol the increase from $.25 - $1 is (4) $1 - $5 is (5) $5 - $20 is (4) $20 - $100 is (5) no matter what there is a 4 or 5 increment jump either way. Also means you can get 5 chips in play where otherwise it is only 4 with $25s... more chips is gooder bro and how could the US Mint be wrong?

I will leave the awesomeness of a $10 chip out of the discussion. But for the sake of the pron thread I decided to double check...
20210323_120915.jpg

Nope... I still don't see any $25s in there! Lmao

Gear labels came out perfect!
Still looking for 60 $2s and 40 $25s to fill racks, if anyone is selling.

I tried to put together a micro-stake set. Ended up going with IoC as a nickel option. SY $2s will be used as quarters. I would love to add another rack of $1s but those are in ridiculously high demand right now. Do I love the IoC as a nickel? Not really. Do I love the IoC on its own? Yes, very much so (this set was the excuse for me to get a rack). I originally wanted to use the SY $25s as a nickel but never had luck tracking them down. Oh well. This picture (today) was the first time putting all the chips together.

I’m just like you. I started collecting singles one at a time several years ago in the hopes of putting a rack together. Then they became available in quantity, but I missed out. Still hoping for a small set one day.

I thought the same on the $25 as quarters but IMO it looked a lot like the $1s

I like the colors indeed, very bold! Just fear that that initial HELLO POWW for your bottom two denoms may be a bit overpowering to your larger denoms there... but I am the first one to say "I like different s**t!" If it makes you scratch your head and say... this should not be here, then I am usually down! Hmm anyway we can see a splash pot when you get a chance? Maybe it's the brown on the end there throwing me off a bit... what about brown $.05, red $.25, Terqoise $1, peach $5? Work your way up to that awesome peach chip as opposed to the Brown? Just thinkin out loud

When you order the labels for the over-labels versus the murder and re-label... are you offering the same laminated label from Gear or are they different at all? Doing my first labels for new set and the 1As are my 1s but likely murdering the rest.
Thx

I've gone with unlaminated for label over, and just placed an order for laminated textured labels for some murdered THCs. If you're not sure which is the right way to go, just ask @Gear before you order.

Thanks that what I was thinking as well. Wondering how different it’d feel with the mixed labels in a set but sounds like it’s the way to go.
Cheers

Sorry for the delay in getting the splashed pot picture. I think my problem is trying to keep a spot progression. That works with the color progression. That's why I keep coming back to the $5 staying a $5.

I think staring enough at these today has convinced me I like them as is (until the next shiny/pretty object catches my eye)
