According to the internet:What’s with “checks”?
Casino tokens (also known as casino or gaming chips, checks, cheques or poker chips) are small discs used in terms of currency in casinos.

Huh, somehow I never caught that before. Thanks! I probably just heard “chips” because it’s what my brain would have been expecting. I wonder if it’s regional; can’t say I’ve ever heard that term. There’s also the great lines from Ed Norton earlier in the film, “stacks and towers of checks I can’t even see over…”
Are there reprints/official copies of the script available somewhere?Seems like it was off script. Maybe Grama was responding to Teddy letting Mike “overstep” with disrespect and get away with it.

That's the best explanation. There was a little exposition in the first meeting with Worm when he is angry about "being your lackey" right before he reveals he owns the debt now.Grama wasn't in it for the money. I got the feeling it was an old grudge with Mike/Worm and he only wanted the excuse to wreck them both
I've always thought this is a casino-specific term.Huh, somehow I never caught that before. Thanks! I probably just heard “chips” because it’s what my brain would have been expecting. I wonder if it’s regional; can’t say I’ve ever heard that term.
Rolled up aces over kings. Check-raising stupid tourists and taking huge pots off of them. Playing all-night high-limit Hold'em at the Taj, "where the sand turns to gold." Stacks and towers of checks I can't even see over.I've always thought this is a casino-specific term.

I would hate to think that @Tommy misnamed the place and it should have been "PokerChequeForum.com" all these years
I’ve always used chips and checks (or cheques) interchangeably. I do understand and agree with the idea that there is a difference between tokens that represent cash and tournament tokens.Huh, somehow I never caught that before. Thanks! i don’t think I’ve ever said cheques because it feels pretentious to me, because (although it’s the correct term) in my experience practically nobody says it in a casino. I’ve heard a Floor say it from time to time, but I don’t hear it said often.I’ve always used chips and checks (or cheques) interchangeably. Yes, they are online in several places, you can just do a google search for rounders screenplay or script and a couple of options will pop upAre there reprints/official copies of the script available somewhere?
We'll back into they day before casino dealers could do this by pushing a button, they would have to yell "checks" to get a runner over for players that want to buy in.I

Thanks! Found it on Brian Koppelman’s blog. He posted a third draft of the screenplay in February 2019.Yes, they are online in several places, you can just do a google search for rounders screenplay or script and a couple of options will pop up

I was wondering about that too. Maybe Malkovich is a method actor? Or Damon needs to specifically be told what his lines are…lol.
I see this video posted a lot these days, here and on other sites too. And I absolutely watch it EVERY time. It’s so good. I’m going to watch it again.

Maybe my favorite quote. That just gave me an idea. There’s also the great lines from Ed Norton earlier in the film, “stacks and towers of checks I can’t even see over…”
