I have looked around online and I am still not clear on a portion of no limit Texas hold'em betting rules.

I know that the minimum bet that a player can make must be equal to the BB. With that said is there a limit to what increments players can bet at?

Example: if the blinds are 50/100, 100 is the minimum bet in any given round. Also if a player bets 100, and another player wants to raise, he/she must at minimum, double the bet, which would be 200 in this example.

My question is, could a player bet 125 if the blinds were at 50/100? or does the bet have to be 150 to be legal since 50 is the smallest increment allowed based on the SB? or would the bettor need to bet in 100 increments since the BB is 100?

Preflop, a player could not raise to 125, as the current bet is 100.

Also, the last bet or raise amount sets the betting limit for the rest of that round.

For instance, in your example, let's say the big blind opens the post flop betting to 125. The minimum raise would be 125, so 250 total.

If the button reraises to 400, then the new bet amount for the round is 275, and the next person could raise to 675 or more.

Your answer is correct, but not the (underlined) reasoning. If a player bets 100 and another player wants to raise, he/she must at a minimum, raise at least the amount of the previous raise amount (not necessarily double). For example, if player A bets 100, and player B raises to 200, then player C can re-raise to 300 minimum -- his 100 raise amount is equal to the amount of the previous raise. No-limit means the maximum bet size is the size of the player's stack.

Player A bets 100. Player B raises to 300. Player C may fold, call 300, or raise to any amount 500 or more (that is an increment of the lowest chip in play). Player C may not raise to 400 because the minimum raise is the last raise of 200.

This is how I interpret it as well. Great explanation, Gobbs.
