Control of the system by a few limited tech giants and nations can dictate what content exists and where. This is ultimate power, control of information and allows for the control of minds.

Worse yet this allows for the editing of all recorded information thus giving the ability to alter our past or any current text. this type of filtering and censorship over a few generations can radically alter the path of humanity.

I was amazed to see that in even on "serious" mainstream TV (Viasat History, late in the evening historical documentaries) the actual original footage showing what really happened in WWII was censored.
Dead bodies (true ones, so inevitably disemboweled or amputated etc), were blurred.
That might lead people like millennials (and younger) to believe that war and totalitarian dictatorship can't be that bad...

This is completely true

there is a famous account of the first emperor of China Qin Shi Huang ordering the destruction of all books in the empire with only 2 copies to be kept in the palace library......Thus over 1 generation essentially all books, thoughts, history and literature were destroyed..... was Qin Shi Huang really the first emperor? its impossible to know. His rule also apparently saw the great wall....the terracotta army....etc.....or was it possible the history books written a-New during his reign claimed many of these great works for the First Emperor....... Also what history was forgotten intentionally or unintentionally?

Similar resets have occured in the common day to an extent in states like North Korea where the Dear Leader's are credited with many amazing feats like inventing basketball and the hamburger as some ridiculous examples.
