I implemented a new home game rule that has cut down on wasted time. If you want to rabbit hunt, you must fully expose your hand to the table. This gives everyone at the table free info about how you are playing in exchange for seeing a card or two. What say you?

We started doing the same thing at my game a few months ago. It really cut down on the amount of rabbit hunting that is done. My players have really bought into it too. If someone asks to see the next card, before I can say anything my regulars say "gotta show your cards too".

Rabbit hunting at Windy Crest costs $1 per street into the bad beat jackpot.

The game I have been playing on Wednesday night charges $1 to rabbit hunt (goes to the house). I have no problem with it. Definitely cuts down on people asking for it.

It does absolutely nothing here. Juices the bad beat because everyone still wants to hunt.

You could get some Rabbit Hunt chips and sell them at the start of the night for an amount that discourages it (say $2 in a .25/.25 game, $5 in a .50/$1, $10 in a $1/$2. Money goes to a worthy cause (dealer tip, BBJ, beer fund, league trophy, charity donation, etc.). Must be redeemed that game, or refunded if not used (no, you can't take them home with you!).

Or just say no!

Having said that, at a recent game when everyone folded to my flop bet and I was left holding an open ended straight flush draw, I sure wanted to see the turn and river...

We play dealers choice circus games, which include a bunch of games we've made up. I don't find that rabbit hunting takes away any significant time from the game. Most pots go to the river (heads up) anyway.

Of course it doesn't. Even if you're playing boring quick holdem.
We're playing for fun - let people see the card! I do like @inca911 rule though - make them show; thats fair. And charge them a blind if you want - who cares. But let them have their fun.

I'm planning on passing out rabbit hunt chips for a buck, just have to have before the hand you use it in. The funds goto the dealer as tips.

If you have a designated dealer, it should definitely go to the dealer and not into the pot.

It doesn’t slow the game down much, most people who tack on a rabbit hunt fee, do it because there’s one player who in his head is the king of poker yet loses all the time, and just Hass to know what he missed out on all the time. It cuts that guy from asking five or six times a night to just a couple.

I usually don't want to rabbit hunt. The one time I do is when I have a royal flush possibility , just for fun

Liking these ideas! We were talking about this last night to cut down on some, while acknowledging its kinda fun to hunt.

I implemented this rule after seeing the thread, it has been a huge success. It cut down on the hunts and everyone gets in on the act of making sure it is enforced now.

Mandatory shot chosen by the rest of the group for each street and fee paid towards band beat jack pot/ dedicated dealer
