I also sold 300 of those about two years ago. Can't recall who bought them. Mel maybe.

Absolutely love PCA, the set manages to be original and progressive while being classical and elegant simultaneously. Brilliant design, I find. Except I don't care for the plaques.

However I like the secondary dollars a little better than primaries. The earth tones on a white dollar I haven't seen anywhere else yet. So much custom set idea fodder.

yeah, and they play pretty good too!

I don't know why, but while this post is not only a good one; it for some reason reminds me of the berry patch scene in Rounders where they are discussing the cigar notes/flavors while Matt Damon cleans up and describes his wheel in a similar fashion as he scoops the pot. lol, classic!

Great news! The chipguide has accepted my silver strike scans and they will be listed effective tomorrow, 3/21/16. Not sure why they haven't accepted the $25 slot token scan......I am working on it!! There are actually 15 total silver strikes (that I am aware of) from the PCA: 4 Limited Edition Series, 4 Gamblers Series, and 7 Mark Twain Series. They only had ONE listed - the blackjack Gamblers series. I submitted 3 Limited Edition Series (eagle, buck, horses) and one Mark Twain Series (pipe). If anyone has any, please submit them to the chip guide (before you sell them to me)!! I don't know why, but I do feel honored to have my name in the PCA chip guide as a contributor, even if it is for silver strikes vs. chips. FUN!!

(they ended up accepting the $25 slot token too.....yay!)

Boy are these chips heavy. Especially when compared to RHC mold

I did not use a fancy digital scale, just an old fashion one, but the results are good enough:

$.5 : 11.0 g (the heaviest)
$1 : 10.0 g
$5 : 9.8 g
$25 : 9.7 g
$100 : 10.7 g

I read an article about the PCA and how it came to be the floating casino after a ship inspector's hammer busted right through the steel hull in several places during a routine inspection. Thereby making it unfit for ferry duty anymore. Awesome thread with great pictures! This makes me want a set of these even more then I already did!

I have 200 mint PCA $1 Secs, and 80 used PCA $1 Secs.. .Love them both equally. Just got outbid on eBay last second for some nice Primary $5's :(

I can honestly say that the PCA Secondary $25 was the chip that hooked me on chipping and to this day continues to be my most favorite chip, so much so that I've built 2 sets around them.

And the PCA Secondary $1 was the first Paulson chip I ever purchased which started the addiction.

I'm very excited to finally be able to contribute to this great thread.

Limit anyone? 1100 minty PCA Secondaries!

The OP states the following...

"In 1993 President Casinos bought the ship to convert it to be one of the original four riverboat casinos to open in Missouri after riverboat gambling was made legal.
Presidents declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2002.
In 2006 it was acquired by Pinnacle.
On June 24, 2010 the President Casino closed for good. After an attempt to auction the boat failed, St. Louis Marine decided to scrap the vessel (july 2011) RIP PCA..."

Based on this timeline, does anyone know what year the PCA Secondary chips would have been produced by Paulson?

All chips produced at the same time. Backup set is a Missouri requirement.

No chip rack changes when sold to Pinnacle. All chips were ordered and delivered prior to opening.

I liked this thread in the beginning, and this is a set I don't have so I can't contribute anything, but just wanted to say that I really enjoy the opening post in this thread. Would love to see more like this for any chips out there, shit, I would read one on the history of dice chips if some one where to make one.
