With all of this hullabaloo in the deflate-gate thread, I didn't want our friends across the ocean to feel left out. Who's your favorite Premier League team, and why are they the greatest? Why does your rival blow donkeys? How come Jose Mourinho is so insufferable?

I'll start. Despite being owned by FSG, I'm a Liverpool fan, mainly because of Stven Gerrard. i started researching teams to root for when we started getting all the games in The States, and I stumbled upon this YouTube clip:

Seems like a pretty cool guy. Also, they're from Liverpool, and the Beatles are awesome, so it was a pretty easy choice for me. Last week wasn't too fun to watch, but I have hopes we can sneak into the last UCL spot.

How about you?

The Sounders. ;) ;) (or as I call them, the Mighty Fighty Xboxers)

I know, that's what the smilies are for. I'm not the biggest soccer fan but even I know that the sounders are low minor league level. I've never even been to a game, even though I hear they are fun, nothing against them but im not the biggest soccer fan so I either want to play it for fun (it's a very fun sport to play) or watch the best of the best when I do watch it.

Would love to watch a premier league game in person one day though, the best of the best at whatever it is will always draw my attention.

My brother is an avid DC United fan. Season ticket holder even. I've tried to watch them on TV, but to me it's like watching the WNBA. At least the Sounders have Clint Dempsey.

So what made you decide the Toffees, other than maybe Timmy Howard?
Fellaini, too, until a couple years ago. Jagielka, now Stones. My GF likes the Gunners, I think because of Ozil, but Everton is our team. We live near a Timbers bar where there is a big Chelsea and United following.

We don't watch much MLS, but go to all the NWSL games.

I don't have a favorite team or a favorite player but I absolutely love watching it with my Saturday and Sunday morning coffee while putzing around on my iPad in my recliner with my dog by my feet :)

Hopefully, this will be the season when Mourinho plays so many mind games that his head explodes live on tv.

He's also a really bad loser (see his post match interview a couple of weeks ago when he went into a sulk and called it a 'fake result' because his millionaires lost). His teams also don't play very attractive football - just very effective.
He also has received a lot of bad press over the Eva Carneiro incident. So funny in the match after that when the opposing fans chanted 'You're getting sacked in the morning' when the Chelsea physio went onto the pitch

Oh, and mine is NUFC (can't you tell from my name here?) but we won't do anything until Mike Ashley sells up. We've just bought a psycho centre forward - 2 yellows and 1 red in his 4 appearances so far (2 as a sub!)

Mitrovic is nuts. But he had that reputation before his transfer. That last red card challenge didn't look so bad.

For me, I've been a proud fan of Man City since 2008. I never miss a game. I also adopted Crystal Palace as my second favorite team after they got promoted a few years ago. Don't know if I ever thought a MW5 fixture between those two clubs would be a 1-2 match-up.

NOISY NEIGHBORS!

I just found the team I will root for: Crystal palace. It reminds me of the Crystal park set which is a very good thing.

Yannick Bolasie is one of my favorite players to watch. He's quick, and very crafty on the ball. He can be error prone, so I think once he works that out, he could be even greater. I also love when they play at Selhurst Park. It seems like quite the atmosphere. I'm hoping to make it to one of their games next season. (The Etihad first, though!)

Anyway, here's one of my favorite games ever. I watched it live, while I was at work. I still watch it from time to time. Allow me to set the scene. Palace is a newly promoted team, Liverpool are title contenders. There are level on points with Manchester City with one game remaining (after this one), but 8 back on goal difference. Liverpool are heavy favorites to win this game, and are simply chasing goals against Palace. Palace, on the other hand, are safe from relegation. In fact, if I remember correctly, they are firmly in tenth place, and can't move up or down. This game essentially, to them, is meaningless. You don't have to watch the whole thing, but just start the second-half video. Skip to about 12 minutes (55th minute of the game), Watch from there. Or, if you want, you can watch about three minutes there, and then skip to 36 minutes (79th minute of the game), and watch from there.

United fan since before C. Ronaldo was on the team. Around 2000 or so. Hoping the money spent this season pays off. Hasn't been stellar thus far.

Looking forward to watching Gerard play for LA Galaxy now. I can root for a former Liverpool player. Not into rivalries, just love good football. Yeah I'm a yank, but I call it football.

Pretty psyched about today's result.

I know they are probably still the better team, even sans Courtois, but in the spirit of the thread's title....

SUCK IT, CHELSEA!

'I am a fantastic manager when I win matches and I am a fantastic manager when I lose matches' said the Big-Headed One after last night's Champions League win

Jose's mind games game is always top-notch. Side note - Did you see his daughter at the recent GQ event? Smoking!

Edited to add picture:

Is it just me, or does Memphis Depay look a bit like Don Lemon sometimes?

I sure have. I got another one for you. Are we sure New Edition wasn't touring Africa in 1993? Because Saido Berahino sure looks like a 90's ear Bobby Brown...

Don't know if anyone cares about the League Cup, but wow, does Klopp have Liverpool looking good or what? 6-1 at a full strength Southampton. If they keep playing like this they should finish in the top four and earn a Champion's League berth next season!

Watch out for Liverpool's result on Sunday - I'm predicting double figures with them being at least 6 up by half-time and I'm a Geordie!

Spurs supporter here. Been following them since late Nineties/early Aughts. Then I met my (now) wife, who comes from a family of staunch Gunners supporters.

Queue domestic discord and awkward family dinners....

United supporter here since the days of King Cantona. Been hooked on them ever since. Made a trip to watch them live last year and it was a dream come true. Too bad they lost to Liverpool when I was there.

They look SO good, and I hate them. Even finally got Origi clicking. They dismantled City a couple weeks back, and only have one loss in the ten matches since Klopp's arrival. What's MOST impressive is that he's doing it with the exact same squad. I'm quite impressed with "The Normal One."

As a USMNT fan, I wish we could trade our Jurgen for Liverpool's Jurgen. I'd happily throw in a Sunil.

Hate-watching LFC v NUFC right now. Newcastle doing a good job in the first 15 minutes.

Firmino gets the start up front for Liverpool. I was reading an article about the Brazilian and how his parents used to lock him in the house to keep him from playing football, wanting him to study instead. Now the 23 year-old makes over $150K a week to play football.
