Just for the record, I'm having a problem with the video card in my Media Server, from where I watch all my TV. The pc keeps resetting, so I keep missing portions of the game. While it resets, I'm posting here (from my work laptop) to keep from screaming at it.
I've tried so many things, even upgrading to Windows 10 (shudder), and just resolved to replace the video card. The resets were occurring once every ten or so days. Now it's bad. 8 of them just since right before the game started...

The thing I don't get is McLaren's post match interview - he said something like 'every time there looks to be a crisis, this team manages to pull off a win to avert the crisis'.
So the appalling record Newcastle has had for the last 2 years is not a crisis?
The dreadful end to last season (avoiding relegation in the last game) is not a crisis?
The fact that Newcastle have been in a relegation place most of this season is not a crisis?
The appalling start to this season is not a crisis?
The performances this season (and last season apart in from October 2014) is not a crisis?
The fact that the results this calendar year have equalled the record for most losses (the record was set in 2014!) is not a crisis?

Congrats on the win! I thought your team played great. We missed a couple of golden opportunities but that happens from time to time. Still don't know how Benteke kicked it over the bar from that close
Anyway, this should be no surprise to anyone, but Sturridge is injured yet again. It's so frustrating as a fan (I'm sure he's even more frustrated) because he is so talented, but he just hasn't been able to stay on the pitch the last two years.

I don't think either team played particularly well but we needed those points!
I think the player Liverpool missed most was Coutinho - he makes some good runs and picks some good passes.
And I don't know how Benteke missed that chance either!

Chelsea have blamed ballboys for that in the past - I think it was a couple of years ago at Swansea (or Cardiff), when Hazard kicked a ballboy for being too slow. He was the chairman's son but stupidly had tweeted that he was going to delay the game beforehand!

I remember that. But given their current form, it's hard to understand why he even brought it up. Here's the quote:

So, they sacked Jose... I know they're in (very) poor form, but sacking a manager the same calendar year that he won the league is astounding to me. It's been 207 says since the last day of last season. (even though they clinched on May 3rd with three games to play..) I'm no fan of his or his team, and the turmoil has been fun to watch. They gave him a FOUR YEAR extension just a few months ago during the summer.... Nonetheless, paying him 40m to go away seems crazy.

Weird they are struggling so badly in the Premier League and won their group in the Champions League. Couldn't happen to a nice guy though 
I know Premier League teams go through managers like water....but damn.
Am trying to think of a faster fall from first to worst, in ANY sport, with so little change in personnel. So far I've got nothing.

Yeah, I know it's just a 48 hour wait for more football. But in previous years I've loved the anticipation on Christmas about games the next day. This time just felt like a normal Saturday. Packed schedule, yes. But still normal.
And City should have hung 7 on Sunderland. Bony missed a penalty. Badly. With Arsenal's capitulation and Leicester stumbling, it was a good day. Except for the defensive captain who keeps things strong at the back re-injuring himself after nine minutes. That part sucked.
