How do you like playing the Milanos and Majestics together? Do they have a similar feel? Are they exactly the same size? As in both fit well in Chipco racks?

I'm thinking of getting a low stakes cash set of Milanos, and then adding the nickels from the Majestic set since there isn't a Milano nickel.

Milanos and Milanos aren't the same size. Equal number of each denomination.

If the 24:25 ratio is tilt-worty, you really won't want to pair Majestics with Milanos.

Like Zombie said there are consistency issues with the thickness.

They are china clays, you get what you pay for.

That being said they work just fine for poker. The Majestic 100s are a bit smaller, but the rest of them are pretty close to each other.

I don't have a problem with it, others might.

When you say Majestic 100s are smaller, are you just referring to thickness, or are there diameter differences too? Are you using Chipco racks for storage, or something else?

At this stage, CCs are at the top of my budget, so I'm OK with getting what I pay for. Just trying to determine if I'll be unhappy with a mixed set. I think they would have to be pretty far off for that to happen. If I have to stack 20 chips and measure to see a difference, that doesn't bother me. Especially if I may have the same issue even with all Milanos!

Another China clay chip I found online is the older (discontinued?) Casino da Vinci, both some that are labeled as well as some blanks that I could use as my nickels. Much cheaper on clearance than the Majestics or Milanos. Would you guys (or anyone?) know if these chips are also reasonably close in size and feel to Milanos? Not measuring stacks, but just holding one of each in your hands.

Just the thickness. The diameter tends to be close enough.

Mixed manufacturers just isn't a wise choice. I combined my first 2 sets to make one large set, and while it "worked" it was just an uninformed idea, that led to chip counting errors when calculating all-ins and making large bets. It is the very reason I bought my 3rd set. Of course because I then had 3 sets, I was a "collector" and have since spent well over $10,000 on chips because I was being cheap.

10 chips are still off by 3/4 a chip. If you stack more than 5 high, you will notice a difference.
 
perusing this thread again while somewhere in Korea my Av8tion Poker 5ks and 25ks are being minted by MSK... as Tom Petty put it... the waiting is the hardest part...
