My wife and I are going to Vegas next week from Thursday to Monday. We are staying at the Bellagio and seeing Michael Buble (for her) on Friday night at Resorts World. She has been several times but I have never. It's also almost our 25th anniversary so we are celebrating that. I would like to play some lower limit poker and maybe a couple 50-100 dollar tournaments. I also definitely want to see old Vegas and watch some crazy people. She definitely wants some pool time and doesn't mind me wandering off for a while.

So all you Vegas vets out there can you recommend good poker venues can you make any good recommendations for an aspiring OMC? And maybe some restaurants we should not miss! Also any other must visits for us while we are there would be appreciated!

Thanks

Be careful...

For real, have fun!

The Venetian had good daily tournaments and soft hold’em tables when I was there last month.

If you make it to Fremont St (Old Vegas) I recommend making the very short walk a little further down the street to Container Park. Kind of an artsy place, it has some cool little shops and food.

Also check out Circa Casino, skip The D (sucks)
Old Vegas sucks but if you must go then definitely hit the Sigma Derby horses at The D, 2nd floor.

Last coin operated game of this type left in the world.

I think if you bring $60 in quarters to the cage they give you the shirt and $30 the hat for free:

The Resorts World poker room is actually really nice since you will be there to see the concert anyway. Encore right accross the street from it is also very nice. Both have good daily tourneys and 1-3 cash.

Best of luck man!! Sometimes here in Europe we forget not every American goes regularly to Vegas :S

fyi the orleans dailies are maybe the better ones for 100 buyin but will play like a tourney should. some of these other tiny ones are going to be just for people who saw poker on tv and want to try a tournament out. crazy fast structures, very few players etc.

Caesars is next door (sort of…a 10 minute walk) and they run several tournaments throughout the day on a 10/2/6/10 type schedule I believe. Buy in is around $100.

Downtown has Golden Nugget for low limit cash. It's the only poker available downtown. Orleans & Southpoint (off strip) have the "most" lower limit games and tournaments. download "Poker Atlas" & "Bravo" to your phone and you'll get answers to all your questions. A couple of my favorite places to visit every trip are:

Fireside lounge (inside Peppermill)
Downtown cocktail room (happy hour)
Frankies Tiki Room or Golden Tiki (Off strip)
Capos (off strip speakeasy)
The Steak House (Circus Circus)
As you've never seen the volcano show or Mirage, go. They are rebranding and it will never be the same. Too bad the Mirage poker room is a thing of the past as well, so many memories.

Have a blast
