In your diagram, in the top half, the edges of the lettering are closer to overlapping the next card on the poker sized cards. In the bottom half of the diagram, the letters on the poker sized cards are more covered up by the next card.

I'm not accusing anyone of angling or anything like that and I couldn't care less who wins the debate, but something about the diagram is off.

I was using a layout program and the angle of the fans are precisely the same in both diagrams. It is an automated process, not subjective.

It's especially true in our silly 5 card games where those not as keen on poker card size differences have also made comments on it.

5-card games are for people who don’t actually like poker as a skill game, and would be happier playing craps.

Sure, play it if you just want to gamble.

But don’t argue “the cards in all poker games have to be narrower because I need 92% of the deck in play every hand to have fun”

There might have been a simpler way to notice that cards a quarter inch wider are a quarter inch wider when fanned

Mixed games require way more skill. Omaha hi lo alone is a whole different complexity, let alone other mixed game variants.

Dude, I've played lots. There are plenty of people that used to play every day that won't even consider sitting at the table now. So yes...I know people who enjoy the game, but understand they will get skinned alive.

I've seen a lot. One night a young successful hold'em poker pro went quite a few large buy ins deep in PLO8 and I've never seen him again. Maybe it was his whole bankroll. Young kid with a wife and new baby at home. Pretty brutal.

Are the size and location of the graphics on each card accurate representations of actual cards? If they are, that would indicate it's not correct to keep angle and spacing the same between the bridge and poker size cards the same because it's not a fair comparison if the poker size cards have more of the lettering covered up. If the graphics are not accurate, then that's the issue with the diagram. Either way, something about the diagram isn't right.

Like I said before, I don't care about this debate and only looked at the diagram because of your comment about the photo of real cards not being a fair comparison.

Reflecting back, I’ve noticed that when we use poker-sized cards, fewer cards are accidentally exposed during shuffling, dealing, and when players fold their hands.

The fact that you are using ChatGPT (Which is notoriously bad for giving incorrect information with regards to general questions!) to justify yourself, and then it also spits out the above, which actually CONTRADICTS your assertions. (Because again, ChatGPT is being ChatGPT and completely fscked up the information.)

1. Discard racks, shoes/dealing shoes for blackjack. - Those games use POKER SIZED CARDS on the gaming floor. Not bridge.

2. It says it's more forgiving for smaller hands. I've personally worked with, and trained quite literally hundreds of poker dealers. Every single one when asked, clearly preferred dealing bridge size cards. (In the casino here in BC, Canada, dealers start out with casino floor games, ie baccarat and blackjack, before getting trained on poker.) So they ALL START OUT USING POKER SIZE. It is unanimous in the appreciation of bridge size cards for games where you have to hold the deck. (Double deck blackjack/pitch blackjack dealers all would prefer to use bridge if given the opportunity).

3. Sorry, completely false. As I stated, poker sized cards are used on the gaming floor everywhere (blackjack, baccarat, shoe games), and bridge is used ONLY in poker rooms.
So the simplified inventory, table conversions, and dealer movement between games without re-training? 100% BS.

4. And here's another thing that failed! Several of the televised poker events actually use POKER SIZE cards. This was done to increase visibility for cameras.

So, I mean, if you want to follow your lord and saviour ChatGPT, well, it's basically telling you that bridge size is best. You're just incapable of reading the information it's giving you.
