Vince Van Patten is the main character and several cameos.

Thanks for the rec. Is it wifey friendly?
A bit of drug and coke references but I don’t remember any nudity. Some big gambling debts. It’s a comedy tho…no significant poker strategy.

So does ur wife have a care free attitude or will this stress her out when u go play poker lol

Do we have a running poker movie ranking?

My attempt
1) Mississippi Grind
2) Rounders
3) Maverick
4) Mollys Game
5) 007 Casino Royale
6) The Card Counter

Poker scene honorable mention
“In time” (you gotta call clock, JT, you’re about to die!!)

Need to give Mississippi grind another rewatch. Didn’t remember that much poker but I did enjoy it.

1. Rounders
2. Maverick
3. Molly’s Game
4. The Sting

Everything else…doesn’t matter…albeit I’m misremembering Mississippi Grind as more of a gamblers movie and can’t recall how good it was. And The Sting kinda falls under that category as well…

1) Rounders
2) California Split
3) Molly’s Game

- - - End of list - - -

(Parts of the Cincinnati Kid and The Sting make them honorable mentions, but the final scene of the former is ridiculous, and the Sting only really has that one scene. If I’m counting them then Man With the Golden Arm is a poker movie, too, which it’s not… Mississippi Grind I found to be a grind. Can’t watch the Maverick or Bond poker bits without wincing. The Card Counter was an unusual and worthwhile watch but it’s more about PTSD than gambling.)

A Bring Hand for the Little Lady (1966).

Cast includes Henry Fonda, Jason Robards, and Joanne Woodward.

Fun movie centered around a Salon's backroom poker game.
