We have airlines credits from a March 2020 covid-related trip cancellation, and we are pretty sure we want to take the family to Las Vegas. Looking at the week before Christmas. Definitely want to hit a couple of shows (which appear to be opening back up soon), Hoover dam, and something at Red Rock Canyon. My wife and I enjoyed “O” and a Red Rock scooter tour when we went about 5 years ago.

Please post your recommendations that the entire family would enjoy (son is 17, daughter is 13). Restaurants, shows, tours … literally anything and everything.

I always recommend stopping for a meal at The Pepper Mill.

It's the last diner on The Strip, and it's Old Vegas cool. Retro-style, it's like stepping back in time to when Frank Sinatra and Elvis would stop in to eat there. The food is awesome, and the plates are generous. It's one of the best deals in Vegas.

  • New York New York - roller coaster,
  • High Roller (Ferris wheel - a bit slow, but good views),
  • Paris Paris - top of Eiffel Tower,
  • Bellagio Fountains,
  • any Cirque de Soleil show (O is worth a second trip),
  • go karts,
  • Linq zip line,
  • open top double decker bus tour of the strip,
  • Mirage volcano,
  • Treasure Island pirate ship,
  • Stratosphere (highest view in town, several thrill rides)
  • Teach them all to play poker and enter everyone into a low stakes tournament...

All of this. And Ka is my favorite show.

We have done Top Golf in Tampa and Chicago. It’s always fun.

How about an epic mini golf course? Something that isn’t a run-of-the-mill course?

Desert dune buggies is one of the best excursions I've done. They have four seaters and two sisters depending on your preference.

I'd second the helicopter ride to / through Grand Canyon... It not the cheapest excursion in the world but pretty cool to zoom along inside the canyon. You also get to check out Lake Mead (what's left of it) and the Hoover Dam.

There used to be a KISS themed blacklight indoor mini golf near the Pinball Museum. Not sure if it survived Covid.

Leaving in a little over two weeks. Any more suggestions?

Flour & Barley was really good when we went, but it's been at least 6 years. Very good pizza and garlic bread and right near the High Roller Ferris wheel.
