Thinking of adding a couple barrels of Venetian $2s as a $20 in a CDI98 lineup. Anybody have CDI98s and some Venetian $2s willing to stage some photos? (@Greykin photo, will remove if requested)

Thanks!

I generally like yellow for a $20 and the Venetian green/yellow color might be just different enough to work.

@dmoney you don’t care if it’s leaded or not?
Not a deal breaker for me. Fwiw I didn’t even think to ask or weigh if my current re-label quarters are leaded.

That really opens it up then! Booyah!

I used the Paulson Chip Design Tool to approximate what I'm thinking, using a yellow starburst as a nickel, but I have a rainbow to pick from for the smallest denom.

From this I think the Venetian $2 fits fine with either the upper OR lower denoms of the CDI98 set, but not as great if its just the top denom in play, as here.

Thanks! And are the Venetian inlays easy to remove?
This is the only one I have. Like you, I was considering making it a $20 in a set I was putting together, but ended up going another direction. The spot patterns didn't work well with other chips I obtained later. It's an odd color and the 2T316 spot pattern could create progression problems as a $20. I still like the chip, but I think it would make a much better frac than anything else.

JesterTX has a CDI $20 chip that was a Casino de Mexico 10 (green with 4 small spots) and it looks fantastic as a CDI $20. Only problem is that they are hard to find.

These have the same spots as my custom frac and the original CDI98 $1 ... not a fit for what I'd like to see, unfortunately. They coud be a great $20 in another set though! (@dealerjim photo)

my possible CDI98 lineup with Venetian $2 as a $20 for lower-stakes games where the $20 would likely be the biggest chip in play.

:unsure::unsure::unsure:

I really like the yellow/green color, because I like yellow for a $20 but green is a common color in that spot. I'm not sold on how the $2 looks with the other chips, or if I care about it that much.

I like it! Good choice for a $20! And prob easier to get than the CDM is used, at least now.

Is this helpful?
YES! I think this confirms it. I like it way more than the mock-ups. A lot more. Also I love your 25c. Great minds!
No, not difficult. Don’t recall much residue left behind either.
Are they paper inlays? or the plastic coated ones like the JACK $1 we have as 25c?

These photos are exactly what I needed to help make a decision. Thanks again!

Getting the knife back out to lift up the laminate makes me think I was thinking of another chip earlier. Laminate is easy. Paper label underneath will need some non-acetone nail polish remover.
