To me, With the qualification I have never played this game, I would approach my starting range similar to seven card stud. In a vacuum not a horrible starting hand, but with a nine exposed and utg+1 raising in early position, he probably either has a wired big pair or three to a straight/flush. You most likely aren’t going to hit the case 9, so your hand is not good enough to continue with.

Brutal reveal. Holding 3 of your needed outs glad you hit though.

I agree with the others, not having played, I would be thinking in terms of stud staring hands and split nines is barely on the playable side of the line for me and the fact you had a dead card on someone else's door, probably tips this to a fold.
