I have some buddies going to Vegas soon and I'm hoping they can get me a couple racks of live .25 fracs.

I'm building a fresh cash set and looking to pair a live Vegas .25 and $1 chip together.
I figured it would be easier to start with the .25 first this time and then find a suitable $1

What's your opinion on the best live .25 chip, on or off the strip? I would prefer a THC but I'm not sure what's currently available.

Thanks for your help!

I doubt you'd be able to get any fracs in quantity. Why would casinos run games with stakes that low? They'd rake almost nothing.
For the few casinos (not any in Vegas that I'm aware of) that still use 25c clay poker chips (Bluechip casino, Michigan City, IN, being one of them), I recall reading they are used in Pai Gow poker and/or Baccarat, to pay a "commission" on a bet of $5, and that the only good way to collect a rack of 25c chips was to play those games for hours, and pocket the small chips.

I think Slots-A-Fun still uses fracs, but they are plastic, injection-molded chips. As for finding actual clay Paulson quarters... they have become increasingly rare at the major casinos.

$2 Heineys? Hell... I'd go there for that deal alone!

I figured the options were limited if at all. Makes perfect sense why couldn't find a past thread.
But who's better to ask then the members of this site! (y)

I believe this chip is still live. I have no idea how it plays or how hard/easy they are to get.

Unfortunately, I think we are about a decade late with inflation to be finding quarters. Good Luck!

I have a handful of these and their singles. Can't buy at cage and the cage is within 5 feet of the two total Blackjack tables. When you cashout, the cage literally yells over to the dealer to confirm the amount cashed out. Pretty funny but these tiny joints do not like chips missing, not to mention this place is in one of the worst parts of town.

If you really want anything in quantity (25 cents, impossible, but 50's maybe), you would have better luck driving to SoCal for these;

(Really bad picture of them on chipguide, my harvested ones are in better shape).

Edit; I'm still in the process of getting these in my hands, but if you don't mind a housemold - my buddy's who got these last month (nearly a rack) are telling me they are in really good condition. (about 45 minutes from north of Vegas)

I don't think Slots A Fun has dealt a live game with real chips for at least 15 years. The games are all electronic.

I recall them having (at least) one BJ table when I went with some friends in "06. Granted, that's pushing 13 years ago... and the dealer missing a ring finger added a bit of spice to it. :ROFLMAO::dead::wideeyed:

Why would a casino have a 1/2 cent chip?

You know, the Gardens chip has the same thing. You'd think Paulson would have a proofing team that would have that at the top of their checklist before production - but alas, it's a great chip for those common .5cent/1cent games (y)
