On the road again (6 Viewers)

@Colquhoun Thanks for the education! Not something I've run into before.

Interesting to see that the dots have quite a bit more prominence on these (with a black background) compared to the costal $100 and PCNY implementations.

JACK Detroit was the same. Personally, I think the Alpha dots add to the coolness factor of a set - gives it a real "authenticity" factor.

I gave this some thought after the last time I saw this white ring and it struck me that it's just to verify that there is something there. A missing alpha dot on a black label isn't going to be noticed by anyone but those in the cage.

Personally like the micro dot , but HSI Don’t have them and they’re still nice
No way! That dot looks like an error :) ... some chips have other marks that don't look like some kind of out-of-focus smear. I'm cool with that, but I hate the dot.

On the PNY’s the dot looks way better. There is no outer circle that surrounds the dot on these. But on the jacks yeah it can look off , I agree !

The dot on the Vineyard $100 is almost invisible...the Jacks have the “The Dot is HERE!” attitude.

Those aren’t holes. They’re micro printed dots, a security feature.......
Here is a pic I just took. This one from a HS Cinci $100. That printing is SUPER SMALL so it is a bit difficult to keep it all in focus in a pic, but this isn't too bad. This is magnified roughly 50x real life size

Yeah but come on... Did they have to make it look like someone stretched the vinyl too far.

I think the point is that making something look similar even without paulson in there - just grey dots, is a lot tougher than if they didn't have that white smear there. On an all black label, you would not see the dot without kissing the chip with your eyeball. If that was the case, counterfeiters could just ignore the dot all together as none of staff would notice it was gone until it reached the cage.
I guess that's the drawback of back labels as opposed to light ones, where it would always be visible and it would take the staff a split second to see that there was something off with the chip if it was missing.

Spent far too much on chips in my first month :( going to do a write up soon but looks like there are more purchases in my future

Those spots were on the Jack Detroit's too.

It looks like there's just an odd placement of the micro dots on the Jack Cinncinati chips.

I just never understood why it needs a large white background. Cant the dot be placed on black? Whoever (or whatever) is scanning it, I would think it wouldn’t matter.

Any reason the $1s are THC and the $5s are RHC? What other casinos do this?
