Okku's Historical Casino Videos & Random Fun Stuff (3 Viewers)

I have a few handfuls of TRK roulettes from Primadonna Reno (not sure if they are from the Ernie Primm era or the Dell Webb era). I bought them from a guy who said his grandmother used to deal blackjack there.

With everything that's been going on I'm a little late to the party, but thank you for all the great content @Okku :)

If your collection is still lacking any of the chips below, let me know!

Following my Moulin Rouge video my buddy let me know that he has a copy of LIFE Magazine that had the Moulin Rouge on the front cover from 1955! He said I could borrow it for a few days and check it out myself. That was so nice of him and I appreciate that he let me see it for a few days. It was incredible to just look at the pictures and all the articles inside. Talking about the shows at these different places and also what was happening around the world. Here's the link if you'd like to check it out, maybe you've never seen one but want to!

Today we talk about another early Vegas casino that I feel like had the right idea or blueprint but just in the wrong era. It's the La Rue Casino that was open from 1950 until 1951 by Billy Wilkerson who was the original owner of the Flamingo. He wanted to bring what he had in California to Las Vegas with a Vegas twist to it. The La Rue was very fancy for it's time and only featured 3 table games inside of the place. It was located where the Venetian is today and before that the Sands. The La Rue had great potential to be something big but that unfortunately didn't work out. There are no known pictures of the La Rue anywhere to which is disappointing because it would be nice to see what it actually looked like from the outside and in.

Here's the link if you'd like to check it out! Your support is amazing as always!:

It's been a year and about 2 months of being in the chip hobby and today I took them all out and went over everything. Made a video showing what I've gathered in that time. You would never think that you collect these chips so quickly but man does it add up quickly. Here's a little preview for the video coming out Monday morning! Have a great rest of your weekend!

Here it is! My one year into chip collecting video! Like I said I would've never thought that I would have this many so quickly when I got into this but hey they are pretty cool things to have. I have about 600ish chips right now with mostly singles and a few racks of some TRKs. I won't spoil everything right now, I'll let you guys watch! Hope you enjoy and let me know what caught your eye or what your thoughts are about what I have so far!

Great job and nice collection! Thanks for sharing Oscar!

Oscar, thanks for showing us your collection! One of the best parts of a hobby like this is seeing the joy it brings each of us, seeing what it is about someone's collection that makes them happy, and being able to share their appreciation.

Kind of random but pretty cool. Got word that Rampart Casino here close to my house released some Year of the Ox chips recently. Soooooo what does a youngster who likes collecting and helping others get them do?? Goes down and gets a few of them. Decided to get 5 of them, two for myself and then 3 are already spoken for. Here's what they look like, new video talking about them more going up tomorrow!

New Rampart $5 Year of the Ox Chip video here. Going to try and get back into the historical videos this weekend and then next week. Have a few quizzes and then a test next week to study for so there may not be a video on Monday but we'll see what I get up to. Hope you guys have an awesome weekend and make the most of it!

Hey hey hey! We're back! Time to make videos again and I'm super excited. This time we take a look at my "Dream Chip List" I made a few months ago. Talking about why I'd want said chips as well as some prices that I know of some of them. These are definitely not going to be easy to find but that's the point. The adventure and hunt for those will make them all the better once I have them possibly one day! Let me know what you guys think and you have been doing well!

Here is a quick video on how to use ChipGuide.com, if you guys haven't gotten to fully explore on how to use it or if you know someone that hasn't gotten the grasp of it you can show this to them. This could also be very helpful for new people in the chip collecting space as well as if you are just looking for other casino memorabilia. The ChipGuide features everything you could think of from chips, ashtrays all the way to napkins and menus. It's the place to find things and it's a worldwide database as I like to call it.

Here's the link if you'd like to see on how to use it and it's many features:

Although the Mizpah Hotel Casino in Tonopah doesn't have major gaming history behind it. It's considered one of the earlier casinos in Nevada accepting gaming in the early 1940s and being a spot in Tonopah to go gamble. It's mainly known today for being on the Historic Hotels of America list as well as being haunted by the "Lady in Red', Miners/Bankrobbers, "Dean" and possibly children. When it got bought in 2011 and renovated it's gotten a little change of look but still retains that original Mizpah look. Here's the video if you'd like to learn more about the Mizpah! Hope you guys have been doing well!

Went to the SNCCC (Southern Nevada Casino Collectibles Club) meeting which is a local meeting here in Vegas. It was fun, I got to listen to some interesting stories by James Hogg who talked about Old Mines and exploring the Nevada desert. While I was there I also picked up some chips which was fun to see what others had for sale and showcasing!

Today we talk about the Fitzgeralds Reno which was located there from 1976 until 2010. It was owned by Lincoln Fitzgerald who also owned the Nevada Club and Nevada Lodge. It was his 3rd property and he had the exact formula to make another successful casino. The Fitzgeralds was known for its "Luck of the Irish" them which you can see from pictures of the outside, inside as well as on the chips.

Here's the video if you'd like to learn more! Thanks again for all the support and positive feedback, you guys are awesome!

We're going back in time to another "pioneer" of the Las Vegas Strip. Today we talk about the Dunes which was located in Las Vegas from the years of 1955 until 1993. It was known for it's Arabian Desert theme featuring the giant sultan outside of the casino. Although the first couple of months it was open were pretty rocky, a change of ownership made it possible for the Dunes to rise to the top. You were able to find all kinds of different shows and celebrities visiting and hanging around there over the years as well. Now a days there are people that have Dunes memorabilia as well as full on chip sets with the chips which is incredible to see. Here's the link if you'd like to watch and enjoy!

Oscar, thanks for doing this video on The Dunes. Brings back memories, stayed there many times. Nice job! I Enjoyed learning some history about it and reminiscing...

You're welcome! I hope you enjoyed it!

Join me on this little mystery adventure of trying to exactly figure out what gaming tables the Moulin Rouge actually had inside. Earlier this week I posted on The Chip Board a screen shot of a Moulin Rouge roulette chip that may or may not be real. We had some people saying that there's a very slight possibility and others saying that it's completely fake and nothing like that could be possible to now pop up out of no where. Now that's my goal is to figure out exactly what tables they actually had. We know that they for sure had blackjack and craps because of the chips obviously but they also had dice made for them as seen on Chip Guide. Let's discuss your thoughts and maybe if we can find some pictures of the inside to fully figure this mystery out!

Here's the link to the video on my channel:

Today I talk about the mystery that I'm still after. I'm sure we can agree that the Moulin Rouge possibly didn't have roulette but like I mentioned in my last video that there was a speculation that there were chips in the pictures from the Rouge that we have never seen before or they looked like another casinos chips (which could have been possible). I show the pictures that Robert posted in the facebook group from the Rouge as well as Fred DeKeyser commented about. Let's see what our thoughts are and the possibility as well if there could be a magical set of second chips or even where the tokens are that might have been used for the slot machines. I show pictures and talk about this stuff in today's video. Hope you enjoy and let's see what we can come up with.

This was written on the ChipBoard but if you guys don't know or haven't been watching my recent videos. I recently purchased a Moulin Rouge roulette chip on eBay. I immediately knew it was real and some people thought it was fake and what not. I'll post a picture of what it looks like here and then my video. Hope you guys have been doing well and hope you guys have an amazing day!!

Written on ChipBoard:

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone on here, facebook and everywhere else! You guys did an amazing job mainly helping Westen figure this whole thing out. Also helping me but I feel like Westen should get more credit since he's also writing an article about the Moulin Rouge chips. I have doubted the power of the internet but over and over again it proves me wrong. Never in a million years would I have expected that we would be finding Moulin Rouge roulette chips in 2021 after they've been sitting in someone's garage for 60-70 years so it's very exciting what we've been able to find. All the pictures, articles and comments have been very helpful and it's amazing to see. In today's video I talk about what went through my head this past week with the "Moulin Rouge Mystery" and how happy I am that everyone was able to help each other out. You guys are awesome and it shows that this hobby isn't dying, I feel like this won't be the only time we'll find something that has never surfaced. So thank you again and have a wonderful day everyone!
