Do you like to buy $0 cash value poker chips for more than face value? Do you love to collect "mediocre winnings" from your poker games? Then this may be the group buy for you! This is the "Official Scrub Donkey Poker Chip Set". First I want to give a shout out to a group of people who made this possible. @BonScot and his amazingly inspired scrub donkey artwork he's provided to us for this set. @Kensco for creating the chip design, colors, spots and the exclusive D&C (Donkey and Cane) mold image. @FordPickup92 and @toynoob for invaluable advice and helping create the lineup and generally just making sure we stay on the "path of the donkey" with this set. These 4 people are special and did incredible work and put in a lot of time and effort getting this set up.

These chips will be Chinese manufactured ceramic chips. They have been selected because of work they did on other projects. The idea behind this was to keep the costs as low as possible to allow every "Scrub Donkey" out there to at the very least be able to get a piece of this. There will be a cash and tourney set as well as a NCV chip representing @Hammer2171 in all his angry glory.

The pricing will be very reasonable as long as the order size is large enough but even at the smallest quantity of 1000 we will be able to get them for a decent price. The pricing will be as follows.

1000 is the minimum order quantity and they come in at $0.20 per chip
5000+ they drop down to $0.19 per chip

You can order any number of chips you like anywhere from a sample set up to building a full cash or tourney set in the specific breakdown you desire.

The kicker is with this being a Chinese company is shipping. For example on a 1000 chip order their estimate was $200 for shipping, 5000+ $300 shipping, and 10k+ is $350 dollars shipping. Keep in mind shipping is an estimate from them until we get closer to a specific number but those can give you an idea. These are the most current shipping estimates as they said shipping costs will be rising with the new year. They said that shipping can vary but you're likely only talking about a couple cents per chip tops if we get to the 5k or 10k level. So this is very affordable for everyone. The MOST expensive they will be with shipping is $0.40 per chip according to their shipping estimates but very quickly goes down as the order gets larger.

The chips will have aligned edges but the company doesn't charge extra for it so their official statement is "They are produced by hand so not every one will do perfect aligned edge. Some of them will still have a little defect" for the low price and zero charge for alignment I feel like its well worth it.

Of course there will be reshipping once the chips arrive to me that will be as follows.
1-40 chips $5.00 shipping
41-200 chips $8.00 shipping
201-800 chips $15 shipping
anything over 800 we can discuss in PM as to whether to go with a LFRB or 2 MFRB.

International buyers will have to pay all actual shipping costs. If someone outside the US wants to be a drop shipper for others in that country I'm perfectly fine with that as that can greatly save on costs. If no one volunteers to reship from other countries each individual will be responsible for shipping cost.

This is the official order thread but because we didn't have an interest thread I will take questions in here. Unless there's a huge consensus problem with one of the chips the designs are set. The artist and designer put in quite a bit of time working through this to get it as good as we thought it could be. The group buy will be open until December 25th at midnight CST. You can order any quantity . The only stipulation is that we have to have a minimum order of 1000 (total) and there is a minimum quantity per design of 100 chips, I am however trying to get that lifted if we meet a high enough quantity total. Hopefully we won't have an issue either way. So on to the PRON!

Just to be clear these are full ceramic chips, no inlay, no mold. All images you see are just what will be printed on the chips, there is no actual mold or spots, they're all printed images on a ceramic blank.

Order totals with base chip costs. Remember shipping will be added per chip once we are closer to the end of the group buy. I will update the spreadsheet as we hit pricing breaks.

Looks like you all found a way to make this happen without paying $1.20 a chip, congrats! Will you be receiving samples before the deadline of the the GB?
Unfortunately there won't be samples. As I stated in the post above it's just too cost prohibitive. It would cost close to $100 to ship over just a few samples and then the time and cost involved with shipping them around we would be talking months extra.

We made a sample run with the current STFU chips just to test print quality, color saturation, ceramic blank quality etc. They passed with flying colors.

There will be picture and video samples provided before production begins so we can verify coloring and ensure that the images are printing correctly.

The initial batch was made by ABC. We used the artwork and design as a test run for this manufacturer since everything was already available and it would be a good comparison to ABC chips.

If anyone needs to have some samples of this manufacturers work in hand prior to a larger order please send me a PM and we can work something out. You can at least be able to handle the chips and see the print quality etc.

Again though we will have pictures and video of the chips to approve before full production begins.

All of this was done to keep costs as low as possible to make this available to the community at cost.

From reading this statement I believe it is important to note that these are ceramics, yes it was stated but to anyone that is not aware. The mold design you see on the outer ring on the face of the chip is printed on (the suits and donkey/cane) are not an actual mold... if this is not correct I will remove the statement sir!

Nope you are correct this is all images printed on a ceramic chip

Fwiw, I think you are just asking for legal trouble with the 'mold' design artwork, and especially the $1 chip design.

Would hate to see a C&D order show up after monies have already been committed.

There's absolutely no way that's happening, you know how many chips I've seen over the years that were way more alike than this stuff is? You of all people should know better. I mean nearly every group buy here uses trademarked images in some way. Everytime a dealer button is made using a casinos logo without permission or their artwork without permission.

Famous last words. All I can tell you is that it's happened before.

GPI aggressively defends it's intellectual property, and they monitor this forum. Proceed at your own risk.

Please tell me what part of their intellectual property is being violated here? Do they have trademarks on "canes" in any format? Do they have trademarks on color patterns? Obviously not because time and time again that stuff is being used on this forum. So what are we violating?

If its happened before give me an example please. Speaking vaguely and in generalities doesn't mean anything without proof. Be specific here, show your work.

This isn't even close to a copy of their work or intellectual property. I mean good grief there's a damn donkey on every chip. Different medium, different images, different names, different colors, different spot patterns.

Lol, you must be blind, or ignorantly unaware of the laws that apply to trademark infringement.

If @pltrgyst thinks it's perfectly fine, I'll move along.

Either the cane or the four suit symbols together like that in the "mold" area should be enough to start GPI's legal gears turning. With the two together, it's almost a certainty.

Remember, the legal standard is the "likelihood of confusion" when presented to the dumbest of the dumb...

When I thought about doing a printed mold there was a ton if feedback not to do it as it always ends up looking much worse in real life than it does on the mock-up. Perhaps give some thought to dropping the printed mold?

Is this a real GB? I think it is, but there are some pretty clever folks on here.
