...for about 10 years.

Having caught the bug again recently, being a former avid player in my youth, I've decided to take a trip to the casino tonight for a cheap NLHE tournament. I'm fortunate in that my city has a couple of casinos so quite easy for me to pop down. They have tournaments every night.

Not really expecting to place in the moneh, nor to play particularly well. It's more for me to get back into the swing of things and see how I get on. I've got Harrington on Poker on my Kindle and my Black Cat Poker 'born to gambol' card guard.

What could possibly go wrong...

Thanks. Not really sure what to expect. I'll try live post as I go.

Good luck. Post live stacks pictures for us degenerates that can't play tonight

Test.

Up to the break. Nothing special. 27k chips from 5k starting. Dead hands all night so won a couple of bluffs and the odd pot.

Some guy called all in with 5 10 against aces and landed 2 pair for the pot.

Serious tilting going on. This is an angry bunch haha.

Morning all. Thanks for the moral support. Didn't play great, called with some stupid hands. I think boredom got the better of me. I was card dead most of the early rounds then picked up a few hands in the later rounds but it was such a LAG table I was being called AOTS and coming out second best on the flop.

Best hand of the night, a lady moves all in pre-flop with AA and is called by 5 10. Flop 2 5 10. This lady lost her shit, it was pretty entertaining.

After my dead cards and stupid plays my 40k stack dropped to 16k and with 13 BB left I moved all in with AJ suited. Called by 88 and QQ. Unfortunately queens flopped a set and I went home. But it was a good learning experience.

I'll be back next week. I will be more active next with lesser hands knowing just how loose this tournament is (it's a weekly one).

:)

Another enjoyable night. I learnt from last week and played a lot looser this time around and it paid dividends. I was up around 110k at on point, with 10% of chips in play.

Some guy at my table was playing blind the whole night and managed to make it past the first break. He and another at the table seemed to be having a competition of some sort, and both shoved blind on what turned out to be pretty decent hands. However, I was holding aces and called their all ins to take the pot to put me up to chip leader.

However, having been awake for 18 hours and having worked for 12 of those tiredness got the better of me. A couple of losses from hands I should never have got involved with and I soon dropped down the order.

In the end busted out. Paired the ace on the board and re-raised all in (my opponent had been playing 7 5 type hands all night). Turns out he had a better kicker and took the pot.

A really good friendly group though.

After I went out I walked over to the cash games and noticed the guy playing blind had continued to do the same over there with a very healthy stack...
