Odd chip spots on ASM chip. (1 Viewer)

This chip was part of a hord of singles/samples/promo chips I recently purchased. Flip side of the chip has a 2011 date on it. Did ASM offer spots such as these on chips in the past?

these were done on some commemorative chips, i have seen acouple of these in
some custom sets. the people made some special arrangements with CPC never
offered for mass production

I believe "Dots" are an off menu item that a scarce few have gotten made for a hefty up charge and only limited amounts (like really limited).
