Nexgen label (2 Viewers)

You cut your labels manually? Why not just use the pre-cut circle labels?

As for getting the clear label aligned, the site suggested that the printed label be slightly smaller than the clear label. So I’m going to print a prototype page of 0.875” labels and put a 1” clear label over it.

After many minor revisions, I'm now leaning toward a much simpler, two-sided design. Also, leaning toward a 0.875" circular label on polyester, and protecting them with a 1" clear label.

Crap, now you have me thinking about relabeling and repurposing my old Nexgen 8000s.

My prototypes … two-sided 0.875" printed labels (weatherproof polyester) with 1" clear labels on top. Glossy on the left, matte on the right. I'm going to do two more sets of prototypes before making my final decision, with 1" printed labels instead of 0.875".

This is just me and I’m probably way off base, but I have a couple questions now that I see them. Please take these questions as curiosity and friendly suggestions and not criticism.

What structure do you use that does not require T25 chips? I assume you start at 100/200 and do not introduce antes until at least a 600/1200 level? Just curious if you already have a structure that makes T25 chips unnecessary or if you are considering them.

The color scheme is a bit confusing to me. While nothing is an absolute, many players are used to green chips being T25 (which you don’t have), T100 chips are often black, T500 chips are often purple, and yellow may work better for T1000 chips.

The labels look a tad small for the chip. Any thought to using bigger labels?

It took me a while but I found a picture of a few of my Nexgen chips. For the record, I would highly recommend NOT using the accent color as the main color of your labels. I learned a lesson there.

I don't mind your questions at all. First of all, I'm still considering starting my denominations at T25, but my house game likes the bigger numbers so I created my prototypes starting at T100. And yes, the blind structure I created starts at 100/200. My game is a very social game, and just one table, so we like people to hang around for a while before the blinds get oppressive.

The color scheme is purely out of preference. I made the black and yellow chips the "premium" chips mainly because black and yellow are the colors of the University of Iowa Hawkeyes, which is my alma mater and the inspiration for my label design. No one has ever complained about my home game chips being a different color scheme than the "standard" color scheme you would see in a casino, especially if the denoms are printed on the chips.

And yes, I literally just finished printing and applying a 1" label as opposed to the 0.875" labels. And I like how they look. Here are the pics. Clear glossy protector labels on the left, clear matte protector labels on the right.

First of all, and most importantly, Go Hawkeyes!!! (I won’t tell you how long ago I attended...LOL)

...and now that you mention it, I think you should do away with all colors except the black and gold and just get a boatload of both of them!!!
