On Tuesday we will start our first ever Team Poker League. It will be composed of two-person teams. Points will be awarded in each the eight tournaments by adding both scores of each together. If you want to look at the rules, click here.
@BGinGA I am looking at two different structures, with only one level different in each. The first has a 75-150 level and the second eliminates the 75-150 and adds a 1,500-3,000. My thinking is that adding the 1,500-3,000 gives a little more play at the end at the expense of doubling the blinds early.
We have nine teams entered (18 players). Could possibly have one more team. Starting stacks will be 12,000 which includes a 2,000 early arrival bonus. Re-entries will be 10,000. I expect about 4 re-entries each week. No add-ons. The tournament will start promptly at 7:30 PM and we want it to end by 12:00 AM.
I know we could add some levels by reducing the time of each level to avoid the 100% jumps, but this group has been playing this structure (option 1) with 20 minute levels for at least 10 years and are very comfortable with it. I'm not 100% opposed to trying something new like 15 minute levels if that would improve the structure, but I am not sure what the player reaction would be.
Here are the two structures I have referenced above. Thoughts?
