Picked these up today and thinking of what to do with them. They are pretty dirty and grimey so I'll need to give them a good clean and oil. Trying to decide if I want to under take milling and labels or just reselling the lot. They were advertised as 1950s clay. The blue, brown, red, and yellow weigh an average of 10.1g while the green where about 8.5g. Asking in the collectors forum they appear to be clay chips with crest and diamond molds, but I'm curious why the crest mold are 1.5g lighter. Need to do a true count as well as each row in the case holds a few more than 60 chips. I'm thinking close to 1000 total,maybe a few more. If I mill them I plan on trying it myself, so I'll keep it updated

If leaded, don’t forget to use good quality respiratory protection when milling.

If these are similar to some of the old Burt chips (likely I think), they won't handle ultrasonic well for cleaning, nor OxyClean. Pick a sacrificial chip from the set to test cleaning on before you dump the whole bunch in.

Brown, no black that I've seen. They also are "BMC"

Quick update: did some quick cleaning on some of the yellow chips. These show the grime best but weren't necessarily the dirtiest ones in the group. Used warm water, dawn, and a scrubber sponge and it worked okay, but time consuming. Also after they were dried you can tell the ones I cleaned now are definitely pale, I'm hoping this will be corrected with oiling.

Is there a better way to clean these chips, or am I doomed to stand over the sink for hours for the lot?
