Hi, I'm new to the poker chip scene and am happy to have found this forum.
I decided to have a family poker game the other night and went out and purchased a used set of "professional poker chips" (the ones with 6 white stripes and the dice). When I purchased them I thought "these are heavy, the must be really good". After playing one game with them I knew there had to be something better out there.
I started looking on YouTube and reading around on the web and found that there is this whole world of poker chip collecting. I went on Facebook looking for a better set and after sifting through a bunch of junk I found a guy selling a set of Claysmith 12 stripes with custom stickers on them for a fair price. After haggling with him we settled on $60 for a set of 600 and a decent case. I am very happy with that set (for now), but would love to learn more about chips now that I have experienced a nicer set.
Short story long, that's what led me here.
