(disclaimer, this thread is only semi-serious).

OK two parts to my request...

One, should I name my game room?

Two, if this isn’t a stupid idea, what should I name it...?

So, I didn’t really have a strong desire to “name” my game room.. but I had someone recently ask me how come I didn’t have a name for my poker room... something cool and catchy (some good examples are Club Courage, The Hitching Post, Exit Only Lounge; etc...). These seem to revolve around their poker chips (well, duh).

However, I don’t necessarily believe a good poker room needs a name, but am I missing out? Even if I don’t need a name, would it hurt? I mean, there’s cool threads like “Tales from the Hitching Post”. Doesn’t sound quite as catchy to say “Tales from Erik’s Basement”....

What do y’all think?

Names revolving around a bike theme would be most appropriate. I have bike themed cash and tourney chips, a bike themed table, bike themed bounties, cut cards, accessories, and a couple bike themed neon signs...

“The Fat Tire Poker Room”
“The Bike”
“Fat Tire Lounge”

Suggestions, thoughts, feedback, trolling welcome. ;)

In before gopher... “Don’t Touch My Card Capper Lounge”

My other hobby is home theater. Many (maybe most) that build a dedicated cinema room in their house typically give the room a theater name. I don't see any reason that a poker/game room shouldn't have a name as well provided it really is a dedicated room. I wouldn't put a table in my kitchen and name it as a poker room. I think your room qualifies as a dedicated room. You've already got signage and customized trophies. I say go for signage for the room itself.

I’m a closet audiophile. Well, I was at one point into car audio competition and won several Best in shows at major competitions. That translated into a love of home audio as well.. I don’t have the budget for audio that I once did, but I’ve got an ok basic setup. Running a Pioneer Amp/receiver, with Paradigm speakers throughout. My screen is a 65” ultra 4K with HDR. We also snagged some ok power recliner theater seats. The Pioneer does well at 120w per ch RMS, and. Has ok sound Q.

Pretty much the same here. Yamaha Aventage running through an Emotiva power amp driving a 5.2 MartinLogan set up with Palliser recliners. Last house had a projector with 106" screen. I do miss that.

Edit: Almost forgot the most important part - media streamer feeding 1500 movies from hard drives.

Id go with Fat Tire Poker Room or Fat Tire Poker Lounge.

Had to edit since I thought of "Fats Poker lounge / Poker room" after I posted

You can't be an audiophile if you don't have at least 15-inch woofers. Just sayin'. 8;)

With audiophiles, size doesn’t always matter....

When I won my best of shows (car audio) I was only running an 80w amp... 4 x 20w. It’s how you use the power that matters. :)

My theater sub is a Paradigm 12”. It is situated in the rear, and I used RG4 quad cable which I spliced my own RCA connectors onto. Much cheaper to run 50’ long cables. Only $4. Probably better sounding than $200 50’ monster cables.

15" JL, MB Mids & Highs, Orion H225 amp stable to 1/2 ohm... bumping in an 84' Hoopty Buick Regal. LOL I remember those days. :ROFLMAO:

Lol, but man, those Orion Amps... my 4 x 20w was an Orion as well.. that low ohm stability is how I ran the following off one amp. I was running a 12” Oz sub in a custom plexi enclosure, and Oz separates in front and midbases in the rear panels. 1990 Honda CRX. My first major competition, the judges actually made me remove several interior panels, as there was concern I was hiding power (cheating). I’ll have to dredge up some photos...

Ya, not feeling this

A few years later I got an 87 Buick Grand National. Bought it from the original owner in Brooklyn NY.. It had 12K miles and was garage kept. Never seen rain or snow. (Buicks/Olds/Pontiacs were notorious for rusted doors back then) I moved away from car audio and got into performance upgrades. What a blast to drive.

@Trihonda You need a slot machine for that poker room. I have one for sale. :sneaky:
