My Journey As A Professional Poker Player (29 Viewers)

I think he thinks they will just play even worse in that game.

Damn cooler hand :(
Still crawled back back to -$150 so that is ok (i lose more in my quarters game)
And you tilted someone...bonus :)

5 PLO high your strong suit ?

I didn't tilt the guy, losing his stack yilted him

We are 7 handed in that room and playing 5 card generates more action

So played the 1/2 PLO which was short-handed at 5 players, managed to get a seat in the 2/5/10 PLO before that game broke, there were two tables of 2/5/10. But unfortunately I was seated at the table with less action. I got on the transfer list but there was another guy ahead of me and my table was shorter than the other game so a transfer didn't look like it was going to happen soon.

Wound up taking a $315 win for the session and calling it a day. Back at it for the Friday into Saturday late night session tonight.

I haven't been to the casino in a loooooong time. But every time I've gone, I don't have a set leave time. I feel like I could sit there until 1.) I fall asleep, 2.) I win all the monies, or 3.) I lose all the monies.

Do you keep a schedule (even a rough schedule... leave by XX time) or are your visits open-ended. If your visits are open-ended, when factors into your decision to leave.

Sorry, I know this isn't the AMA thread.

Questions are perfectly fine here

In my old schedule I tried to set a window of play, so my wife would know I'm leaving by 8pm or 10pm

That way we could go to bed together

Now we go to bed together at 7pm, set my alarm for 1am and get up to hit the casino early a.m.

I may only play a few hours, or I may play a full 8-10 hours.

Depends on how good or bad the games are, how I feel, how much I'm up or down, etc.

As a for instance, I'm back to my 3k/day loss limit. The other day in the 2/5/10 I bought in for 1500 and ran it up to 4500 within 2 hours

The game was still good and I had the biggest stack, but there were some dangerous players (real gamblers) sitting with 1800-2500 each.

I knew if I doubled one of them up I would feel pretty shitty about blowing a 3k profit and leaving with only 500 profit, so opted to leave and lock it up.

To clarify, you mean up or down at the table, not at 7:00 p.m., correct? :sneaky:

Yes, how much at the table. I still play my normally scheduled sessions regardless of where I am at for the month

I try not to carry my previous sessions into my current ones, but look at them as a clean slate

Otherwise you will focus too much on "oh, I'm down $800 last session so I gotta get that back" or "I'm up 6k on the month so I can afford to play reckless today" , etc

Hit a bit of a cooler. Maniac at the table raised blind to 40 on the button (he was first to act after the rock)

Everyone calls including me in the BB with

:as::jd::8s::3d:

Flop is :qh::8h::8c: and I lead right out for 125, he is the only caller

Turn :qc:

We both check

River :6c:

I check-call his 300 bet expecting him to bet missed flush and straight draws and possibly an 8 with a weaker kicker

He rolls over AKQ8 for the flopped house

Was up around a grand, but had to settle for +$500 on the day

A player left and we dropped to 5 handed with no list, decided to rack up

Well, to be fair, earlier the maniac raised pre with xxx7 and I cslled on the button with AAxx. Flop was 774 and I was the only one who called his bet, and hit my 2 outer Ace on the turn and he bet into me on the turn and river, so sometimes I can get lucky too
