My CPC order has arrived. (1 Viewer)

I will be adding to the sample thread on chiptalk. I need to get shipping info from everyone and decide what to do about the cost of the samples. After looking through all of my chips the samples won't be perfect, they will most likely have some imperfections from the mold.

I definitely would like a sample set even if they aren't 100% perfect. I haven't been to CT in ages though so I'll have to try to find your sample thread on there I guess.

Consider yourself lucky as the future of the MD-50 mold now seems questionable. I've always wanted a set on that mold but that's another dream that is likely to have vanished.

After losing TRKs, BCCs, Paulsons, the roman mold, and after the ASM Vegas debacle, I have to ask - why would you delay in getting chips on a mold you like?

Gotta agree here, I have no idea on condition of certain molds or the longevity of the CPC business, I hope it lasts forever. But I didnt want to take the risk and put my Custom CPC order together as quickly as possible.

The idea or the very thought that true customs might not be available for anyone in the near future worries me a lot.

Simple: Money. As with many things in life, it's all relative. In my case it's relative to how much I can spend on chips vs. what those chips cost. About $3 per chip for my dream set is just not do-able for me at this time (nor has been in the recent past or will be in the near future).
Besides that, how many people see the CPC website and wonder when a specific mold will break, wear out, etc.?

I get that costs are prohibitive, and will never, ever become cheaper. The Copperheads are beautiful, one of a kind, and as the mold is showing wear, about to become irreplaceable. You cannot put a price on that. Maybe you look at a smaller set, a different breakdown, or even simpler spot patterns.

They invented ramen noodles so we could all own a CPC set :D

I had a few minutes before work to kill so I thought I'd see if I could get the feel for copperhead road. Remember this is just a hobby and I don't really know what I'm doing.

of all the chip sets I've looked at on this site, this has to be one of the sharpest and coolest sets. If I wanted a set as well, how does that work? Who owns the artwork? Can I change it? (the only thing I would change is the Oregon to my local spot). Do I contact CPC 1st or the owner?

The artist very likely retains the rights, but the first person you should contact is the owner of the set since he art directed and and paid for the rights to ultimately use the final image. If that person is cool with it, then you hit up the artist and see if they're cool w/you using the art for your own set and, if so, what the fee would be to do so & to tweak the image according to your own purposes.

I won't speak for the owner of the chips in question, but what I will say is that for folks customized, non-pastiche inlay designs, it's rare to see them shared for various reasons; don't be surprised if the answer is "no". And even if he did agree to it, the artist may very well say no. In short, be prepared for an unfavorable response. Now, if you're riffing off a pre-existing casino logo or inlay, that's a different situation entirely, but that's not the case in the context of this discussion.

Also, it's money well spent to hire a designer to get chips that unique and something personal to you. You might be thinking "I can't think of anything interesting". That's what they're best at. Throw some ideas at them and they'll make something unique that you'll love.

Also, beautiful set. Can't get over that sexy $1.

Oh man, these are sooo good! Well done. You've got the song stuck in my head now too & that's a good thing! Love that $1. Wow. I just started re-doing my calcs to see if I can make shaped inlays work hahaha  :whistling:
