Most Useful Poker "Accessories", Least Useful? (1 Viewer)

1. Place the cut card on the table.
2. Take some amount of cards off the top of deck and place them on the cut card.
3. Take the remaining cards and place them on top of the cards that were just placed on top of the cut card.

Thats not how I do it, I learned from Chuck Norris how to properly cut cards, and divide by 0

The only detail you missed would be "with the same hand".

Can't remember if I ever posted these, but super useful "Racker Stackers Lego edition" that @LeGold gave me long time ago. Super useful!

Tl;dr entire thing
Useful:
- tournament software that tracks everything.
- starting stack tubes
- thermal printer to provide table/seat, so I don’t have tell everyone every 10 seconds.
- players that help out all of the time.
- beverage fridge
- bourbon

Not useful:
- rebuy chips. Tournament software handles it
- seating chips. Tournament software handles it
- buy-in chips. Tournament software handles it.
- papers with blind structure printed on them. Tournament software handles it.
- scotch

Useful:
Dyson handheld with brush attachment
Dealer Button (because people drink duh)

Less useful:
All-In button. People Call before I can get the damn thing out

Super not useful:
SB & BB buttons. What's next UTG, UTG+1, HJ & CO buttons?

Exhausting. My mooks can barely keep a dealer button moving and they ask me to use the SB BB chips on a full ring. As if me keeping them focused isn't enough, now I have 3 buttons to move. I move the dealer button to the previous SB, he's holding the SB button and has the nerve to thank me for the dealer button before going back to talking about his fucking video game. They lost their blind button privileges lol.

Useful: In table USB ports at each spot in view but under the rail. (Yes, our 10 man home build has them. Search my threads)

Useful: Dedicated dealer. My second in command (@scoobydoobs ) loves dealing. He moves the button (enough with the button hate), keeps the action flowing and has wicked long arms.

Useful: Dedicated shuffler. A member of the core crew usually winds up immediately to the right of the dealer (when our second 10-man is finished and we open back up to two table action we’ll draw for table/seats) and does a casino shuffle and has the next deck ready for @scoobydoobs

Useful: Card covers. It gives the dealer a target when dealing and has prevented accidental mucks as well as helping other players know that there are cards that haven’t been mucked in front of someone.

Not Useful: Two-way drink holders. We switched to the jumbo stainless or brass cup holders versus the two-way ones and out near misses (and the accompanying skipped heartbeats) are gone.

Not Useful: Excessive emphasis on food. Every game is different and I understand that. We play twice a week. Players are free to bring something (no dish to pass kind of thing) for themselves or others but keep it under control. Order something to the house if you like. Golden Corral doesn’t have poker because they don’t need it to survive just like our game doesn’t need food to keep it sustainable.

I’m sure there’s more on both sides.

It’s funny you say that because there are at least a couple of Chinese food restaurants with big bars nearby, and they host free poker on some weeknights because they need it to survive.
But I agree with your actual point - messy foot has no place at the poker table.

Noice! Able to make a chip rack out of Legos? I'd probably super glue them when it's a final form.
Anything is possible with LEGO. Whether it will look nice though...
I made a few barrel holders with transparent pieces and they are OK.

It's funny you mention that, because I recruited a number of my players from a a game that started in a Chinese restaurant. It later moved to a gastropub. Food has always been a part of my game. I wouldn't deem in "necessary", but I find the games with food have a far better mix of players (a lot more women, people have brought their kids... it becomes more than "just cards".

As for Golden Corral, the one in our town closed. If they had poker they would probably use dice chips, so I still would not have had gone.
