Most expensive home set? (1 Viewer)

Not even a fraction of $500k but definitely these. I'm still eating Top Ramen for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. :jawdrop:

How much was this? Are these custom TRK’s?
Yes. It was a 6,000 chip custom TRK Rounders set. Probably about $1.15 per chip in 2005 (maybe 2006), right before TRK closed down from what I understand. I still do not know who ordered the original custom set, but 3,000 of the 6,000 showed up in France in 2015 and were sold to a handful of PCFers. I bought 450 of them at that time, and shortly there after, @MegaTon44 did all the heavy lifting and headed out on a mission to accumulate all 6,000 of them. What I paid...nobody knows  :whistling: (well one person knows).:cool

Right on... nice chips sir.

I wonder what happened to the original Rounders chips from the movie. Do people actually have sets of those, or just singles?

Spotted HS Aztar Tourney set went for about $6 per chip for a set of approx. 600... (not mine / photo by @DrJohn)

Wow good deal. Beautiful chips!

I believe a set came up for sale recently and it sat in the classifieds for a long time and received some price chops too...could be wrong

I've never seen the chips in person, but they look pretty awesome.

With the wisdom I 've amassed here, I see that, financially, probably the most reasonable and sound choice is to go get a bank of $10K to $20K of live chips from the casino(s) of your choice and, if ever back to life and to your senses, redeem them. :)

I really don’t know where you folks get all of your money....
These high dollar sets will likely sell for at least what people paid if not more. I have lost money selling cheap sets (plastics, ceramics) but haven't lost a cent selling clays.

I’m just saying...I have a set of JACKs which fortunately didn’t cost me market price. But I watch people buying up $4,$5,$6, $10K sets....I have a really good job and I don’t have that kind of money. You all must be hedge fund managers and brain surgeons I guess...

Hedge Brain Manager ?

I own 8 or 9 premium sets (who's counting) and chipping is not even my most expensive hobby (not counting the wife & mistress).
It's all about dedication ;)...and timing
