He accepted the floor's word, gave back the chips, you can see it wasn't easy for him to let go, like he thought it was his, and asked to see it (the video)

I feel like that is on par for how I would respond to it?

If he thinks he accidentally may have taken them, suggesting checking the cameras to correctly place whatever happened seems logical though...
- Also put your fucking big chips on top of your stack if there aren't enough of them to make a sizable stack, don't put two loose chips dangerously close to where the player next to you is shuffling chips...

I don't think they RFID track the chips for the stream/chip counts. The $1k+ chips may have embedded RFID tags but more for the cage to track upon cash in/cash out I'd imagine.

To be fair everyone agrees he took mike’s chips. What people are trying to judge is intent. And there is very little evidence of intent (either way), despite the Reddit posts assertions of intent in both cases

Problem #1 - there are incredibly too many chips in play
Problem #2 - its an RFID table that has been play for a significant amount of time, its easy to see they need more room
Who puts 2x 5k chips in front like that? You're asking for drama, MikeX puts the odd (3rd one) from a pot he won on top like it should be.

I don't peal off a set amount of chips when I'm shuffling, sometimes it even sometimes its odd.
on the 5k chips - He didn't see the chips prior to splitting the chips, the motion is natural.
on the 300 chips - it was what I thought before he said it, the 3 chips would make the stack even.

Andy jumping to 'check the cameras' immediately is the only odd behavior, there was very little discussion, it could have been because of the 300, he learned the best way to deal with it; but he had to know if he stole them it would tell, so hard to think either of these were intentional.

The guy typically buys in for 1/2 a mil, and you think he really cares enough to take 10k?

Next time he might shake his @$*!

RFID tech isn't good enough (yet) for it to be tracked on stream. I believe the dealers call out each bet through a mic so production is able to keep track of everyone's stack.

People have weird relationships with money and gaming. I’ve seen an older gentlemen who was retired and drove a Bentley stop at 7.50/15.00 games because someone didn’t ante. He had like 2K behind, but he wanted that $2.50 tracked down. He made us go to the cameras to see who didn’t ante the floor stopped our dealer for almost 30 min out of righteous spite.

I’ve see a 4/8 limit game stalled for 15 minutes because someone wanted the extra dollar and disagreed with a lot split. $1 dollar. One.

The stacks and stakes are irrelevant. Sometimes people just wanna take shit.

Sure, if you shuffled them for a while. But it looks like he’s just cut those out. I’ve played at Hustler and Bike and those chips are slippery but you still know what you cut out.

if you actually cut something out. he just grabbed a random stack of chips. i understand it's hard to fathom, but not everyone ensures they cut out an exact stack to shuffle like we Type As do.

is there any footage of him before the grab? how long were they out there for, did he eye them? does he always look down after one shuffle?

I'm not 100% either way, yet. If I cared much, I would want to look at a larger sample of HCL videos - how often does he shuffle left handed, how often does he shuffle that close in proximity to someone else's chip pile/stack, how often does the chips he picked out to shuffle match the chips of the adjacent player closest to his shuffling hand (e.g. in this case, he picked the same color/denom chips to shuffle as the two "loose" chips of the player next to him), etc...

And as far as rationalizing criminal behavior? Fuggedaboutit... Don't even get me started on that...
