Yes, I have. It was not at all like the video.
My experience was actually pretty good, many years ago it took place in Manhattan .The people generally had good poker etiquette, they had a dealer, they had their own custom chips that, off memory, were what we’d call murdered paulsons. It was not in a basement, you took an elevator up to the rooms. Security was tight, cameras covering all places. They had either live sports or the godfather playing. I never really was worried, maybe I was young and naive.

Very interesting, thanks for the insight. My naive self also thinks most of these underground games are pretty chill for the most part. With that said, if I were to walk in one now and they have godfather playing on the TV.. I'm probably not going back a second time haha

I played in some that are super sketchy,
Now when I do play it’s in the high tech games/ more security than it takes to get into a real casino / meet up spot is some parking garage lid into a party bus or limo , then off to VIP suites in hotels cameras are covered with trash bags , obviously the owner is getting a cut lol , they take your phone they take your ID they run a background check on you before you’re allowed to enter , have to enter the second set of doors before seeing tables 1st room is a giant buffet and social gathering of wives / gf/models etc ! . No cash changes hands in the building. Every payment done via Crypto. !!
Games are 10-20 nl usually a 40-80 straddle , $10 rake per hand doesn’t get drawn out the cameras record the action your hands played( not hands dealt too ) is the amount they take out end of night. (This is kind of a cool way to play and I’ve never done it before intill I played in these games but if you’re super tight and conservative you might owe $100 at the end of the night or if you’re fast and aggressive in a lot and try to limp, you could end up paying 1000s in rake) but you also gotta remember most of these games used to be $500 -$1000 entry fee to get into the building .
Payment is processed through crypto wallets end of the night.
Been involved in 3 illegal raided games and let me tell you don’t do underground in peoples basement /sons of Italy’s / night clubs lol all three were broke up on nights with owner having over 100k being seized in cash on 2 occasions. Btw you never get your money back from the precinct that took it it’s always evidence in a case connected to a case lol

Cashless games are the way to go if you’re going to do it. Nowadays I plat at casino lol less money / kids/ kids travel ball lol/ house / 2 cars can’t afford groceries or eating out hardly expensive nights playing poker aren’t in the budget lol
