I like the always look on every street method.
But, if you want to learn a needlessly complicated system to always remember your rank and suits that will take almost as much time as learning fundamental poker strategy, it exists, and it's call mnemonics. Assign a person(or object) to every single card. You design the system in an organized way, like spade cards are famous people, hearts are people you love, diamonds are cartoon characters... For ranks, you use the Major System, or phonetics...
If you really want to pick up another worthless hobby,(at least it isn't expensive) check out the artofmemory.com, and hey, you might get good enough to memorize a deck of cards. It's a terrible trick to demonstrate because it still takes several minutes, unless you really commit.
It's not as hard as I am making it out to be if you just want to memorize your hole cards, it's just how much work do you want to put in, and that effort might be better focused of poker strategy, or designing a new set of chips.
