As you guys may have seen I recently bought over 1000 nps chips. The set was meant for tournaments so I have been looking to add some 1s and 5s to it so I can do cash games as well. My problem is im starting to think I may have to many of some chips and not enough of others and I want to find a better breakdown. My tournaments are usually 10ish people but I would like to be able to run a 2 table game in the future If I get that many players interested. When I play cash the stakes very, as I play with people with different bank rolls. So sometimes we play micro, other times it could be 50/1 or 1/2.

I'm not sure if I should build 2 sets, a cash set and a tournament set or if i should just find a good breakdown with one set that I can use for everything. I'll add a breakdown of the current chips I have. I would love recommendations on what you guys think might be a better breakdown for me. Thanks for any advice.

My current chips
T5 (100 red pharaohs and 20 nps)
T25-350
T100- 409
T500-174
T1000-99

You have plenty of chips for 2 tables in the lower denoms…you’ll likely need a few 5,000 for a T25 tourney.

The standard recommendation for one table Looks like this:

T25-base -- 12/12/5/6 T10K starting stacks (200BB with 25/50) and 100% re-buys, or up to T25K stacks (500BB) and no rebuys:

T25 x 120
T100 x120
T500 x 50
T1000 x 75 (includes color-ups for T25/T100)
T5000 x 35 (includes color-ups for T500 and re-buys/larger stacks)

For 2 tables, you actually need only 600 chips:

T 25 - 160
T 100 - 160
T 500 - 80
T 1k - 140
T 5k - 60

With 5 extras each. Perfect for 1 (12/12/5/7) or 2 (8/8/4/7) table 10k starting stacks.

Your main problem is that the T5s aren’t doing anything for you right now Multi Table Tournament wise. Starting with the T25 as suggested above is a good idea, but I like a 5th denom to chip up to near the end of the tournament, otherwise the last two players will be betting by the barrel.

Alternatively, you could do 12 people today with a T5 tournament- 10/10/7/2 for T2000 stacks. Pad out the 5s for a total of 200 T5s for 20 people as your game grows. You already have plenty of everything else - including the 1K chips for rebuys.

It would also be possible to play cash with your current set, the usual caveats aside, until your bank roll pays for another set. To get you going, make T=1c so the T5 and T25 are your fracs and I think you will have enough chips for the lower stakes. You may struggle a little at the higher stakes with this formula - you have enough for 10x 100bb buy-ins at 1/2 but not a lot more.

relabel those 5s as 5ks and boom, done. use different chips for cash.

So for my cash set I'm thinking I'll order

100 25 cents
200‐1s
200- 5s
75-25s
20-100s
5-1000s(these will never be used but I just want them haha)

Think this is a good breakdown for mixed stakes ( 25/50, 50/1 and 1/2 ) cash games?

this is pretty much my exact breakdown, except i have 0x 1000s (or 500s) and 80x 25s. its a pretty versatile breakdown, but i wish i had more 5s just to get more chips on the table. i will probably add on 2 racks of 5s next time my mold runs at CPC.
