Hey there,

Obligatory post to build my post count so I can be active in the Classifieds... but here is my story.

I am looking to build a home cash game set.

I am a sucker for Paulsons and have already accumulated around 50 crisp $0.50 bright pink local casino chips. They are freshly washed and are awaiting their $1, $5, and $25 friends.

Can anyone help recommend some specific Paulson examples of these denominations that have bright colors? I've checked eBay off and on but there are only so many examples at any given time. I'm all about the color and the patterns on the edges, however i do appreciate a solid color chip but would prefer if it only made up one of my denominations, preferably the $1.

How screwed is my wallet?

Welcome to the forum and great news on harvesting those fracs. There are many choices for the chips that you are looking for. Keep an eye out in the classifieds and once.

Luckily for you $1, $5, and $25 are the most plentiful chips in most casino sets. If you don't mind casino used chips there are ton of options that will be reasonably priced (at least what we consider reasonable around here)!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I have uploaded a pic of the .50s I'm accumulating.

Any one have any lines on how to get Paulson Top Hat and Cane $1's or Isthmus $1's or something of a similar color scheme?

I will make my own Wanted post when I can, in the mean time I would appreciate specifics that i can google and get a feel for.

Nice chip. Not to state the obvious, but what about the $1s from the same casino? Go to the cage and ask the cashier nicely, and give the cashier $120 and ask for a rack of mint $1s. Rinse and repeat.

To be honest, the $1 they have are very generic and bland, not to mention i think i would get a ton that are in very poor shape. I'm not a total condition snob but I think they would be too poor. I'm really looking for something with blue or white with some nice accent colors and good+ condition.

I just read you said ask for a "mint" rack. You think they would do that?

Also, has anyone been "busted" trying to get a lot of chips out of a casino? anyone have any tips/tricks on pilfering out chips over time?

Regarding asking for a mint rack...Depends on the casino and whether management has a policy, but yes, it has been done. All the time. The cashier might not be willing to do more than a barrel or two or a rack, but you never know. (I am aware of one time a friend asked nicely for a rack of clean chips, and the cashier said she'd get a fresh rack for him. He tipped her $30 and she then offered to get more if he was interested. He walked out with four brand new racks in his daypack.)

As for harvesting the chips and carrying them out, just have a small bag/backpack and stick the rack of chips in there when moving between tables or something.

Veeeery active. Lots of sample being bought and sold all the time. In fact if you do a search someone was offering free samples for new members. The search function is your best friend.

You will find it pretty safe here especially when dealing with established members of the community. A couple of racks or even a decent size set is not worth scamming anyone over. Community cred really is worth more. We all watch for scammers as well.
You will find many chippers here have way too much invested to ruin their credit here.
I often wondered the same when I began and soon realized it is generally safe. If you ever make a meet up you will get a better understanding of how close knit the community is.

The terribles ones and then go snag a couple racks of these $5s, they're hot! Expensive initially, but you can always easily unload them for cash if you need to! Hahahaha

You should harvest as many of those mint .50s as you can. No matter the number, I can basically guarantee there will be a day where you wish harvested more.

The two pinks are different. It would work well. You just have to find those $1s. gl.

Im a huge fan of your 1's by the way. I would love a good blue/purplish 1. Is that a pink accent color on there too? sometimes these pictures don't show the exact color. For example, the .50's I uploaded to this thread look much more light pink in person.
