These mermaids came in a lot today. I usually throw cheap plastics straight into the trash. But these things are freaking great. I mean great for 6.6 gram injected plastics anyway. Seriously, these things are perfectly flat. Flatter than lots of Paulson hot stamps. They feel and sound fine, and they have a really cool texture. I’m surprised and impressed and I’d be fine playing with them. In fact, I’d rather play with them than many “high end” plastics (I’m talking to you, bud Jones V7!)

I think you would like faux clays too and those great plastic diecar chips…

Same here btw, I got a rack white blank chips (diecar) from Kevin as a fugazy in Philly @ekricket that I really like and used to own a faux clay set (that is still in use at a friend)

PLENTY of casinos used mermaids for their hotstamped fracs

I use those for decoy shipping

This from mr. Anti-RHC. I always get a chuckle from your opinionated post. To each their own.

We all need to get over our groupthink that everything that's not compression clay is unholy.
Hard no. Plastics belong in a loaner/travel kit. Maybe some BJs pulled out for a novelty game.

FAIR.
But my anti RHC stance is always in comparison to leaded THCs, which totally isn't fair.
I remember a few years ago, when my occasional home game were played with THCs, but my more regular play in public cardrooms was with ceramics - I went and played a tournament at mohegan Sun. Those chips were RHCs and they were delightful, because I was used to playing with ceramics.
I will happily admit that RHCs have a place in the hierarchy of chips, and it's a pretty high place. I just have a hard time making room for them for my personal use.

THC vs RHC is an easy one except for the leaded stuff…I prefer a leaded RHC set greatly if we are comparing with non leaded 9gr THC chips…and cheaper too.

Same for BCC vs modern THC, no contest imho
