Warning*** Ben Book!! Continue at your own risk! Ye be warned!!
Brie and I were very active on Social Media a couple years back but decided it was too much of a distraction so we got rid if it all... we had nothing for a while and I started teaching her to play poker with my 20 year old slugged chips. I wanted to get the family playing again so we upgraded to Monte Carlos 14g slugs and before I even finished that one started hunting and building a 08 Casino Royale set also 14g slugs.

This was before even knowing that there was a chip community. I was picking up that something was weird with so many bids on chips on
eBay... I had no idea other people were into collecting chips. Well with the 08 Casino Royale hunt coming up short I started peaking around online and saw a few pictures of what I know now to be
@Phantom custom Casino Royale ASM chips, I was hopeful that they weren't customs and somehow I could snag a high denom playable set of those... that never happened. Lol
That lead me to PCF and Brie was also curious about ththe hobby and wanted to participate in something with me as well. I found a small lot of Paulson chips on
eBay after hearing everyone here rave, I had played with many in casinos but didn't know that's what they were at the time.

Yup that little 10 - 12 chip stack ruined everything for me!
I saw a picture of the Aces
RHC blaze orange $3 chip which quickly became my first love... there were more posts on chip talk that here and we actually tried to join there first but it was at the end of their time. Brie bought me my first 2 racks of Aces (a rack of $5s and a mixed rack of $2s and $3s) we have never looked back.
Brie took an early liking to PCAs and there was a small lot on
eBay that a guy in Maryland was selling and we actually drove down and picked them up...
So we were both working on real casino used cash sets, and neither of us played cash! That's how bad this hobby is! Lol
I say it all the time it is hard to remember life before chipping as this is what we do now, washing, oiling, sorting, buying selling. I do know before hand I didn't have money issues and have never been this broke my whole life... and I grew up poor. The sickness is real
@abby99 double what you need huh??

We have never attempted a family photo with all of our chips because I don't have a space large enough in the house to do so. Lmao maybe someday we will move the furniture out of a room and fill it with chips, but that would take a long time.
This hobby offers a complete rollercoaster rode of emotions from the big score! Loosing out on what you needed... saying dibs on a big buy and the realization that now you need to pay for it. All part of your journey... if you are lucky enough to figure out your Grail set and obtain it quickly and leave, good for you. Many of us are just not that way, and even if you do obtain your grail set unfortunately for many of us... even that is not enough. The chips are awesome but the friendships made here mean way more than little round clay discs for us!!
To many more years of this crazy hobby!! I don't miss life before this, this is all we know now, just looking forward to getting back to a poker routine and getting some of our awesome builds on the felt!!
