What are my options here (where I could feasibly get a barrel - not collecting singles for 5 years).

Specifically leaded, THC (not IHC) so 39mm, and casino, not fantasy (like the Scandia or CDI).

This is not a sales thread, mostly curious what’s my theoretical options are.

From a pic I took a while ago. Empress Joliet. PCA. Condado Beach. In my limited experience I would say all your options are bad.

Probably some of the casablancas? Not sure how many $500s they had, and not sure how many were leaded, but I bet those brick red ones are good.

My snake purple Casas are only 9.5g so probably not leaded? There’s like 6 versions though so I guess some are.

I’d wager they are leaded. Plenty of known leaded chips have weights lower than that. Lots of variables. Doesn’t all come do to weight. Feel more than anything imo
Maybe. Or maybe partially leaded, if there is such a thing. Or maybe not. I got to play a session with some Casablanca pink $5s not too long ago. They didn’t feel particularly leafy. Hard to tell though, especially when they have glossy inlays. Those definitely could play tricks on my mind, which is wired to associate textured inlays with leaded chips. So, it’s hard to say.

Have you ever weighed chips by color? I think I remember BCC and Paulson having some issues with some colors. Like sometimes the reds were just a hair heavy. I think it had to do with the dye.

No formal experiments. Anecdotally, I’ve noticed that whites tend to be heavy and greens tend to be light.

Bright greens tend to be light, as do brighter reds and orange in my experience. Whites, Pinks, grays and blacks tend to be pretty heavy. Here’s an example of how weights vary by color even within one set produced at the same time.

I have weighed my Paulson color set, but I can’t be certain they were all made at the same time, but still interesting
