Sold Lac Courte Oreilles leaded THC Sets (LCO) (1 Viewer)

I recently purchased the retired chips from the Lac Courte Oreilles (LCO) casino in northern Wisconsin (pronounced: lah-coot-oh-ray). These LCO chips are leaded THC-mold Paulsons, with shaped inlays on the higher denominations. The chips were used in this very small casino for 25 years, and are in much better shape than the non-leaded RHC formulation chips I have seen (for example, from the CIN/CLE Horseshoe buys).

I've bundled the following breakdown of chips to maximize the number of available sets. The pics below are a randomly selected set, so nothing has been sorted or cleaned.
  • n=100 x $2 THC chips (potential use as a frac) <---only available as part of a set, no single rack sales
  • n=300 x $1 THC chips
  • n=300 x $5 THC chips
  • I'm also including a free rack of ceramic $5 chips, for those with games that need four racks of $5s
  • n=80 x $25 THC chips with shaped inlays
  • n=20 x $100 THC chips with shaped inlays

Price for a complete THC set is $1,700 + shipping (e.g., $19 for LFRB) via PayPal F+F or buyer pays fees. Buyers assume shipping risk (FOB my post office), but insurance is available for purchase per standard USPS terms and rates, and international buyers are welcome. I package extremely well. As with other used casino sets, some chips have rack checks that may or may not come off with cleaning. I used a Magic Eraser to clean up several in my set. For stand alone purchases, or for add-ons to these sets, I have more $1s available for $200/rack + additional mixed racks of $25/$100 available for $300/rack (80/20 mix).

I am open to trades for interesting chips, including: a rack of Palais de Congres $5 and maybe a rack of PdC $10 + Wynn charity event T25s + Empress Star secondary tournament chips (especially T25k and T100k). If you have TRK Deadwoods, PM me so we can work something out! Pics below are close-ups of representative chips pulled from a random set to show condition:

I don't regret it a bit. The $2s are pretty amazing!

I kind of wish that this casino had made the $1s yellow and the $2s blue... but overall, these Paulsons are still pretty as hell. I simply love the color scheme of the $1 chips' edge spots, it's like seeing the Jamaican flag fluttering in a sea of blue.

@Balanar, if you're in a good spot financially, u should pull the trigger!! I just don't see how this set could be a depreciating investment...

Yeah, I could roll with that. The yellows are hard to beat.

Two full THC sets are available at the discounted pricing, then the well is nearly dry. I've never regretted the chips that I've bought, only the chips that I've missed buying.

A couple $1 limit sets will be posted this weekend, for those who have the need for limit poker!

Looking forward to seeing some more pics, especially from those who have cleaned and oiled their chips.

Want to trade a set for a Horseshoe Cleveland Tourney set :p
...that avatar though  :ROFLMAO:

I noticed that the reds before washing has a little shine to the edges. Im guessing that years of fingers on them polishes them, a little like how the spacebars on old keyboards have that polished spot where your thumb keeps tapping.
I knew washing would remove the "shine" but I couldnt deal w the grime haha. Just wondering if anyone has a suggestion on how this shine might be restored? (Polishing cloth? Hmmm).

Oiling the chips only pops the colors but doesnt bring back that "original" look im after. Any suggestions?

That shine should come back with play... I would think, but it's going to take a a bit.

I've been back and forth on squeezing the trigger on this set, especially at the discounted price, for so long now.

If anyone wants just the 25/100 rack along with some racks of the 5s(either the THC or the ceramic), drop me a pm. We might just be able to work something out.

The last set has now been sold (pending payment from Bala for his set)!

The "good sorted" $1 limit set auction closes on Saturday @ 3pm CT. I will be posting two economical $1 limit sets with the "culled" $1 chips on Saturday. Individual rack sales of $25, $100, and mixed $25/$100 to follow. If you bought a full set, PM me if you are looking for additional $25/$100s and we will make it work. I am offering discounted pricing to the clubhouse members first, before selling those for mixed set use.

Edit: reminder that the rack checks clean right off with a little magic eraser. My ultrasonic didn’t touch the rack checks either.

Thanks for this find Forrest! Can’t wait to get everything cleaned up and on the table!

Also FYI looking for a few racks of the ceramic $5s. Can’t say I’m willing to pay all that much but I’m open to hearing prices people are willing to let them go for :).

I'm starting to feel lonely without having to walk over boxes of chips in the living room....

They have shipped! I swear this wait is the worst part of the purchase...
congrats @Balanar! Wow, it's hard to believe there will now be two LCO sets residing in SG. I miss my nephews & the Hawker centre food but now there's even more incentive to visit Singapore again...

Ooh didn't know you lived here before! Of course, you're welcome for a game any time when you visit.

Man, i really appreciate that. Thanks @Balanar, and also thanks @muggles for ur hospitality and offering to share the joy of these leaded THC Paulsons.

sorry for the confusion, but I'm not from Singapore. I have visited sevreal times because my sister and her family are currently ex-pats in SG right now. My Brother-in-law is doing research at NUS.
