Lol, I would never buy them at current prices
Just wait till Black Friday, when they have warehouses of unsold cards to move.Lol, I would never buy them at current prices
I read it to mean narrow (bridge) jumbo are discontinued. I expect poker size jumbo still to continue. If I understood correctly, in addition to the price increase, jumbo cards will no longer be produced?
Too many product variations cause too many quality control issues, especially with the quality of workers. A couple of runs of bridge sized print on poker sized cards will cause you to rethink your product mix.I read it to mean narrow (bridge) jumbo are discontinued. Still doesn't make much business sense. Happy if someone can clarify for us all.
True. But up to now wasn't there just four combinations/variations? From many threads it seems many prefer bridge jumbo. Price increase and reduced options may hurt their market share. Their fault I guess.Too many product variations cause too many quality control issues, especially with the quality of workers. I think you greatly overestimate the ability of todays workers. That’s three too many for most to comprehend anymore. When all you can process is “push button, then wait for finished product” there’s not a lot of room for complicated directions involving four products. But up to now wasn't there just four combinations/variations?
Yes, many here at pcf prefer bridge jumbo. But we’re just a small collection of hobbyists with aging eyes. Casinos still prefer standard index.True. They’d have to give em to me. I rank Kem below anything else plastic due to the bowing issueJust wait till Black Friday, when they have warehouses of unsold cards to move.
A lot of the KEM Decks I have which are from casinos or specialty designs I have never taken them out of the plastic wrapping and just have them for display because of the known bowing issues. They’d have to give em to me. I rank Kem below anything else plastic due to the bowing issue
When liking a post simply isn't enough...Alex, I'll take 'Threads That Have Zero Personal Impact' for $1000, please.
Fuck those guys.
The thought crossed my mind yesterday. NAGB chips price vs Chiproom chips price is now pretty similar to KEM price vs Copag price. There will be a day when NAGB's will focus on casino KEMs. No way casinos are paying $50 (or will pay $80) for a setup.
Bowing is not a glitch, it’s a feature! Will the new cards bow 60% more severely as well?
Except as a company, you can't rely on current customers to make your profits...you need to always be gaining new ground. I can't see how this price increase helps to bring anyone new to the KEM brand.Maybe this makes does make sense for KEM. Those that hate them still won't buy them. Those that love them will continue to buy anyhow. May lose only a small proportion of buyers. Even if they lose 25% of sales they will be making more in sale $.
They lost their minds....
Good question. Not too damn many. Modiano Platinums, which I’m not sure if they’re made anymore. Some cardimundis that I don’t think are made anymore.I’m one of the few who still love KEM. I’ve used the same 2 decks of KEM arrows for 2-3 years now. No warping issues.
KEM are cellulose acetate, not PVC. If not KEM, what is another available cellulose acetate option?
Yah these are the only ones I was aware of and too your point, not even sure they’re produced anymore. And I think they make PVC versions so you’d have to find the ones that actually say acetate.Good question. Not too damn many. Modiano Platinums, which I’m not sure if they’re made anymore. You can check Dix redneck list, but I don’t think that’s completely accurate. He’s got davinci listed as cellulose acetate, and maybe once upon a time they were, but I’d bet my butt that my davinci setup is pvc made by Modiano.
He’s got Piatnik listed as cellulose acetate as well, but I dunno, I got rid of all mine because they were stiffer than I liked. And they’re hard to get.

Angel also has an acetate version....Yah these are the only ones I was aware of and too your point, not even sure they’re produced anymore. And I think they make PVC versions so you’d have to find the ones that actually say acetate.
Modiano Platinum Acetate
Dal Negro Acetate
Cartamundi Acetate
Agree with this completely. IMHO, Angel cards are the closest to Kem that I’ve found.I agree, even if you love KEMs (and I do too), and have no issue with them warping or the recommended care...$50-$60 per setup is really crazy considering the other options out there.
Granted, nothing feels like KEMs...but at that price, I'm out.
