Just ordered my first set of Modiano Platinum Acetate Cards (1 Viewer)

Personal favs are Fournier and Gemaco Superflex, the latter of which are the nutz in my book. Platinum Acetate are also good, but rank a solid 3rd - not worth the extra cost over the other two imo.

Agreed. If you like the stiffer, snappier feel of paper decks, the Superflex impress me as the closest to that.

The decks on your avatar look like the cases for Texas Poker Modianos, not Platinum Acetates, that's why I thought you had tried both.

Wait a minute -

you are right. I guess I never really gave it any thought. I am in LA this week, but when I get back will give it some more thought and let you know. Both are nice cards though.

Perhaps best feeling plastic cards, IMO, are the Regular formula, "Non- Platinum Acetate" Modiano cards.

** A few years back, because of the Popularity & Casino use of Kem ( Cellulose Acetate), all the non-Kem major plastic brands were suddenly tripping over each other to get the word "Acetate" on a line of their own cards, by trying other types of plastic "acetates", some brands I think also just started to put the word acetate somewhere in their fine print just to keep up with others .
There were posts about early Copag, Modiano ect acetate decks being brittle and cracking, and other issues.
Modiano seems to have worked out the kinks in these newer formulas, but it's still mostly a marketing gimmick, they're fine, but I don't feel the acetate versions of these major brands are any better at all over their "regular" plastic decks.

You may very well be right. I just never pulled the trigger on the Platinum Acetates because they were more then 2X the price of the other Modianos (which we buy by the case for our game) and we don't need the cards to last for tens of games as we usually use a setup of plastic decks 4-5 times before we retire them.

So they dont make this in bridge size? :( what about the gemaco superflex ones?
