Hey everyone. Heard about this forum through a poker friend who has been bringing his personal collection to our monthly cash games. I realized how inferior my chips were to his and felt it was time to really do some research on what’s the best out. Looking to start from scratch again with my poker setup. It’s time to invest in some quality chips. Going to be on the hunt for $0.25, $1, $2.50, $5, $25 and some $100 chips. I’m a fan of the crazy colors that are super distinct. Trying to veer away from the standard white and red chips. Some yellows and purples are more in my lane. Especially since the Lakers are winning the championship this year lol. Look forward to getting to know everyone here.

I can highly recommend going for 'Lakeshore Inn' as your first ever set in stunningly beautiful Cali colors

it will be a battle for LA but I have to go with the king. Besides, the new clippers jerseys are unsettling lol

I agree that you should look into California sets if you want to deviate from the white $1s and red $5s. May want to look into the Outpost casino chips. A large lot of these were just brought in to the fold.

Kinda informally. I met @Ethan and @crussader when @Coyote came to visit and we had a fun cash game hosted by Ethan with lots of chipsturbation. Then @crussader and his lovely wife came to one of my monthly games. I took a drive north and had a lot of fun playing mixed games with @atomiktoaster and his crew. @MrCatPants hosts regularly, I'm yet to go to one of his games but that should change next weekend!

There's also an event (semi annual?) hosted by the San Antonio crew which happened in August and I got to meet @Brandon and @atomiktoaster from the Houston area along with loads of other PCFers from all over the country. https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/all-in-at-the-alamo-ii-blog.45082/

I'm only messing with you, John.

Lakeshore Inns are considered 'Holy Grail' sets fit only for PCF Chipping Gods.

They are not meant to be wielded by mere mortals and certainly not by chipping neophytes.

You can check out the following recently concluded Lakeshore Inn auction to get a flavor of what it means to vie for a set of these 'un-attainables'.

You'll likely have a far greater chance of seeing a paper dog chase an asbestos cat through Hell, than owning a set of Lakeshore Inn ;)

But there are plenty of other stunning Cali sets that are obtainable and the folks at PCF can be a helpful bunch to hook you up.

Indeed, yelllow, purple and porn light pink:) are a lot more fun than standard reds and blues, let alone dark greens.
A lot has to do of course with the color of your actual or intended playing surface.
