Jack casino’s being sold! (1 Viewer)

One of the dealers told me that an announcement will be made next week. The unofficial word around here is back to Horseshoe.
Also heard his motivation had to do with sports gambling. If sports books get legalized here, he wouldn't be able to own them...whilst still owning the Cavvies. This picture doesn't show it, but the snappers are super bright...like a hot pink.View attachment 231390

$5’s are hideous, IMO.

I would think harvesting would be easier now, or immediately after the announcement. They most likely won’t be too concerned about chips out the door after that. Money in the bank for them.

Not surprising. Secondaries are supposed to take over when the security of the primaries is found compromised. Any info about secondaries of an active casino floating around effectively thwarts that security to a big extent.

Those are the LE $5's... The standard $5 is better, but not great.

This. I am guessing Ohio gaming law mandates secondaries (for $5 chips and above, nobody is going to fake $1 chips) since both Horseshoe casinos that came to market had them. It is reasonable to assume both Jack casinos have secondaries and we don't know what they look like. If that is true and our usual vendors can get the Jack chips, we will have an overabundance of Ohio RHC casino chips in the market. Unless vendors buy low and sell low, they will be available for a long time. I would not mind a set...

I hope Jim @TheChipRoom is able to get these so they don't get destroyed. Those 2's are just way too nice to get shredded.

I’d bet just about any amount of money these all hit the market. Same ownership as when the Horseshoe chips sold, there weren’t any gaming board issues with it. Rock gaming isn’t going to throw a bunch of money away for no reason.

Do you need any special license or something to be able to buy the chips from the casino, or can anyone with the cash purchase the lot?
Depends on the state. In Wisconsin you can just walk in and buy the chips, in other jurisdictions you get a license from the gaming authorities.

The Horseshoes only had secondaries of $25 and up. Coincidentally, the $25 and higher denoms were also the only ones that also had the Paulson micro-dot security feature on them. The same is true for the known primary JACKs. I wouldn't expect to see $5 secondaries.

When do we think the rebranding will happen if at all? Time to start saving and praying that some of these hit the market for 69 cents like the cinci chips. Want

I am kinda pissed that all these casinos are using RHC, won't stop be from buying boat loads but damn I wish THC was the only Paulson mold.

This whole THC vs RHC issue was all foreign to me when I came back to chipping after an absence of several years. At first I didn’t get it, but now I know I have come to prefer THC like many others on this site. Doesn’t mean I won’t have a RHC set though.

I clearly prefer thc, but I don't mind RHC if in good shape. My issue comes from mixing the 2. I really don't understand why some of the chips are THC and some are RHC in casinos. Pick one or the other. Maybe I need to work on not caring because some RHC chips are incredible and priced well, but the thought of mixing them turns me off for wherever reason.

^^ Commonly referred to by chip spouses as "more time and money than sense".

But hey, you can't argue that we don't know what we like. ;)
