I've gone through numerous sets over my 13 years down the rabbit hole that is poker chip set collecting. The only constants I have are a heads up set of Sahara Casino Paulsons (that I have kept as they were my first casino chips), and my ASM custom cash set. The latter has seen more table time than all other sets put together.
I've a bit more time of late to devote to poker and am looking at a custom tournament set. All well and good so far.
One of my (many) sets to cause me seller's remorse is an ASM Rounders replica set on the Horsehead mold, part of group buy I think about 10 years ago.
I'm a sucker for clean, simple and classic. Not that I don't enjoy a Duy's Palace BCC set (greatest custom set of all time imho), or indeed many other more elaborate sets.
My current line of thinking is getting a set with the same edgespots ($1000 may be a bit different) but instead of the now stock sets with a bear (means not much, and we don't have any here in Scotland), have a Beagle, more or less just black, clipart style.
We have a beagle, I had one as a kid, so it would have a personal feeling. But I can't help have a nagging doubt that I should be doing more as it is a 'custom' set...
So am I mad to consider what is effectively a semi-custom set given the outlay?
