Cash Game Is there a standard or preferred home cash game cashout out procedure? (1 Viewer)

I’ve still never been to a game in my life where I didn’t use cash to buy in and receive cash back for chips out.

That being said, during the games I’ve seen people deal with other players (and the host) to exchange Venmo/etc. for cash, then use that cash to buy chips. But then those transactions don’t involve me or impact my cashout so I have no real issue with that.

But if someone is using digital currency in a game that also allows cash, and I buy in with cash, I’d expect to leave with my cashout in cash. Or I’d at least want to know the expectation on how money gets paid out at the end of the night if there’s a mix of both.

Yup. Host gets whatever is left, for better or worse. Usually it's neither. But if that bank is short, there's only one person responsible.

Exactly. Host (banker) has to cash out last… and suck up any mistakes.

In my game, we play a rotational mix on a slideshow controlled remotely by the dealer. We play fixed limit and when we get to the end of the rotation, the game ends. Sometimes someone will go broke and leave early, but most of the time everyone is still in the game when the night ends.

It's also worth noting that we play fixed limit, so the chances of someone having a severely bad night are reduced.

When I host cash games, I seldom see anyone leave early. However, our games wrap at midnight, so perhaps some stick around a bit longer than they would if they didnt know that it was only going to be another hour (or half hour).

As host if anyone forgets cash I have them Venmo me and I throw cash in the box for them. End of night whatevers leftover is my keep, we've been short a dollar or two before but never anything substantial.

The game is a usually 25/50 cashgame (Hungarian forints), I am the Bank.

We use Revolut, no cash at the table.
This also serves as "proof" of purchases if stuff doesn't add up in the end.

There is also a printed form for every player's buyins and final chip count. During game I administer everything here.

When there is a rebuy:
1) Wait till I get the money on Revolut (seconds)
2) Register the purchase on the form
3) Hand out chips

When the game is over, we color up every stack as much as possible - its a bit of a hassle at first, but this dramatically reduces the miscounts.

First we color up the 25s to the player who has the most 100s (="The100guy").
This will make the other players' color up way faster and only one player remains with a lot of chips.

Then everyone makes 1000 HUF worth stacks from their chips and I (the banker) color them up to 1000s or even 5000s. Super quick and foolproof.
Lastly we color up The100guy.

Result: now everyone has around 10-20 chips instead of 80-100.

Add up and check everything and I send them their exact money on Revolut.
Never had a problem.
