Is there a problem using a birdcage for long-term storage (1 Viewer)

An update:

I was carrying my chips in 2 birdcages between rooms, and I heard something, that sounded like a screw, hit the floor. I continued to take the chips the rest of the way through their journey before going back to find what had fallen. It was a black flat-head screw about an inch long. I immediately suspected that it had fallen out of the birdcage. I emptied the cages and flipped them over and was correct.

My chips survived 1/2 their journey with only one screw holding them in place.

The screw went back in just fine. I didn't have any Loctite so I simply added the screw and tightened is as much as I trust tightening a screw into plastic.

While a catastrophe was averted, it is a good lesson: If you carry your chips any distance, make periodic inspections of their travelling containers. Hinges, handles, pins, screws, and latches. Risk your chips on a stone-cold bluff, not on the way to the table.
Very true, one of my 600 chip cages is loose on the black middle part that is connected by the screws, I will probably end up super glueing it, and moved my Taj ceramics into it, I will look into a travel case Incase I want to take them to a buddy’s house to play, cages are recommended for home use since you don’t have to lug them around.

Actually added super glue on the screws to reinforce the sled, definitely can feel how much sturdier the cage is now
