I was just reading the Poker Chip pr0n and got an idea, this may take some doing but I imagine this may be easier than even my first design I tried to do that didn't go anywhere.
Chip: "The Midnight Room", "The Midnight Lounge" or "Midnight's Casino", Upland, CA (fictional place, obviously)
Concept: Pretty simple really. Have a dark blue sky at night over a casino, have several chip designs (for a tournament set) and have the four suits either around the casino or around the moon (I like the colored suits with the Mayfair club but would it be possible they would have an outline so it would appear easier against the dark background). The bigger the value of the chip, the more full the moon is (5c/25c/$1 would be a new moon, $5/$25 would be a crescent moon, $100 would be a half moon, $500/$1000 would be a three-quarters moon, $5000+ would be a full moon. I haven't thought about what to do with a bounty but I imagine that would be kinda cool to think about. The only reason I'm entertaining the low values is I like the butterscotch color of the 5c chip of the Mayfair club, I may do that for one of the chips, say $5000 if this is strictly a tourney set.
I may go back and ask our residential chip designer for feedback on this one if I can get it off the ground. I tried to do one 4 years ago and it never went anywhere, so maybe this will go well. This is risky but at least I can try to make this an actual design. XD!
UPDATE: moved the casino to Upland, California.
